I am constantly buying large and small collections and have built up quite a stock of nice, clean Scandinavian country collections. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. Here are a few samples of collections. Due to the low prices, variations in weight, and different mailing methods, distances, and destinations, shipping cost varies and is additional for items in the Specials Collections listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.

Norway Cover Collection of Postally Used Special / Pictorial Cancellations: Collection of about 50 postally used 1999 covers, all from different post offices around Norway and most with (appears to be all different) special / pictorial cancellations. The covers are all neatly hand addressed (by all different senders) to the same individual in Norway; I believe that this person was sending off to post offices for examples of their postmarks and/or to obtain special / pictorial cancellations (some or many of which were only in use for a single day!). All but three of the envelopes are 9 x 6.5 inches and are POST OFFICE OFFICIAL MAIL "POSTSAK" ENVELOPES -- these are STAMPLESS OFFICIAL POSTAL MAIL. Despite there not being any stamps on the envelopes, each is canceled -- usually with the special / pictorial cancellation and sometimes with an additional "normal" town cancellation. (A few only have the "normal" town cancellation but they are still very interesting as examples of stampless official mail.) The subjects of the special / pictorial cancellations varies greatly, including Ships and Boats, Lighthouses, Arctic and Arctic Circle, Sports, Fish and Fishing, Post Offices, Churches, Festivals, Town and Region Symbols, Northern Lights Observatory, Bridges, Waterfalls, Vikings and Early History, Airplanes and Flight, etc. While I have, as of July 2025, previously seen a few (less than five) such Norwegian covers in the last 52 years, I have never before seen such a hoard of such covers. While one does not usually think of special / pictorial cancellations as being "rare", and they are not on philatelic covers that have NOT been through the mail, they ARE "rare" on postally used covers! A very unusual group that surely would be "impossible" to recreate! Though these may not have high financial value, they are "rare" and it is wonderful that they have been preserved! Though these may seem like modern/recent covers, they are now over 25 years old! If these were individually described and offered, most would surely be listed for $5-8, but as a group I am attempting to keep them intact and offer them for less than $1 each!
