United Nations 1980-1989 UN FLAGS Mini Sheets Complete Set in Albums: Collection of pristine UN Flag Mini Sheets 1980-1989 in the set of ten compact Fleetwood albums which has one album per year. To see what these mini sheets look like, see my web pages starting here. Each annual album includes a booklet with an article about each country represented. The albums are just slightly larger than the mini sheets. The mini sheets are in crystal clear pages in the albums (you can remove them if you wish). The mini sheets are pristine, NH VF, and complete for the time period. The albums are also pristine except for one which has a damage on the front cover (but the stamps are perfectly fine). The total retail of all the individual mini sheets in the 1980-1989 set is $350, which I normally discount 25% as the year sets -- the ten year sets thus come to $261.75... BUT THIS GROUP OF TEN YEARS IS FURTHER DEEPLY DISCOUNTED ANOTHER 35% -- to less than half the individual prices -- because I already have an adequate stock of the mini sheets. [This offer is supplied with the sheets in the albums, thus there is a shipping cost for the albums. However, if you only want the sheets without the albums and thus a lower shipping cost, ADD $20 for labor (it takes a while to do carefully) to remove the sheets from the albums. In that case, be sure to tell me if you do or do not want to have the ten booklets (with text about the countries). Just the sheets without the booklets will further lower the shipping cost.] |

United Nations 1951-1989 Mint Collection (NY, Geneva, Vienna) in Lighthouse Hingeless Album: Beautiful collection Mint United Nations stamps and souvenir sheets from all three offices, presented on immaculate Lighthouse hingeless (with mounts) pages in a red Lighthouse "Perfect" turnbar/post binder with gold "UN" imprint on spine. The 1951 through about 1976 stamps appear to be lightly hinged (thus moved from another album) while the 1977-1989 stamps are all NH (thus all of Vienna are NH). The stamps all appear to be VF quality -- the #38 souvenir sheet is immaculate, extremely lightly hinged. The collection is virtually complete (I only noticed 5 inexpensive stamps missing), with the important point that the 1980-1989 Flag stamps are present in their full combination sheets, but are not present as single stamps (Lighthouse has pages for both). [I probably have the single stamps in stock if you want them (additional cost).] All are very neatly mounted in clear stamp mounts. The pages and binder are in pristine condition. A beautiful presentation of the first 38 years of UN philately, at a super price. I have not calculated the Scott value. A quick look at NH year set prices and NH stamp prices of a couple dealers indicates that the NH New York value is around $409, the NH Geneva value is around $140, and the Vienna (all are NH) value is around $80, for a total of around $629. While a large deduction for the lightly hinged stamps must be taken, they are a minority of the value to start with. Note that Flag sheets are $189 of the $629 value. It is difficult to value the Lighthouse pages accurately because Lighthouse uses different year cut-offs, but their current new prices FOR THE PAGES ONLY are NY 1951-1975 $265 and 1980-1999 $349; Geneva 1969-1999 $339; Vienna 1979-1999 $269. I am guessing that the new value of the pages through 1989 that are present here is around $400-450 -- and THESE LOOK LIKE NEW. The binder itself (no slipcase) is available from Lighthouse at $89.95 for new -- and this looks like new. This is a wonderful UN collection that is virtually complete, in wonderful condition and quality (with the earlier stamps lightly hinged) at a terrific price! Postage and handling is additional, but this will fit in a flat rate Priority Mail box for $22. Lay-a-way purchasing is available. |
