Scott numbers have been given for these listings. If you would prefer to examine the stamps before purchasing, or you are seeking stamps (or condition or quality) not listed here, you are also welcome to send your want list using Scott, Facit, or AFA numbers.
The images shown in this section are standard images of the issues from my image library; they are presented to show the designs of the stamp issues and not to show the specific individual stamps being offered. The centering of the stamps in the images is usually Superb or VF quality; again these are not images of the individual stamps being offered. Most DWI stamps had between two and eight printings, thus colors vary greatly; the colors in the images are random printings/colors.
All the listed conditions and qualities were in stock at the moment this list was prepared and I endeavor to maintain them in stock and to keep this website updated. However, my stock changes daily and (to paraphrase) good stamps are hard to find. If you are willing to accept a different grade or quality if an item is temporarily out of stock, please let me know when ordering (add a comment at the conclusion of the shopping cart process) and please also let me know of any alternates you will consider.
11 [1877 (1878 Printing) 12 cent Bicolor, Red Lilac and Yellow Green, Perf 14 x 13.5] Mint with F-VF centering, nice looking, but with small defects. A nice looking example at a very low price. A Mint F-VF example without defects, with this centering, would otherwise be $65.

11 [1877 (1878 Printing) 12 cent Bicolor, Red Lilac and Yellow Green, Perf 14 x 13.5] Used with Fine centering, nice looking, but with small defects (corner perforation, tiny thin spot, small "hidden" tear). A nice looking example at a very low price. Scott 2024 value is $170 and a Used Fine example without defects, with this centering, would otherwise sell for $120!

11a [1877 12 cent Bicolor, First Printing, Lilac and Deep Green, Perf 14 x 13.5] Used with F-VF centering, but rounded lower right corner perforation and heavy cancellations. A very reasonably priced example of a stamp that is almost always damaged due to the extremely thin paper. Otherwise would be $240 for this centering.

11a [1877 12 cent Bicolor, First Printing, Lilac and Deep Green, Perf 14 x 13.5] Used with F-VF+ centering and neat St. Thomas 1870s cancellation, but one rounded corner perforation at lower left. An attractive example of a stamp that is almost always damaged due to the extremely thin paper. Otherwise would be $260 for this centering.

13, Facit #13a, AFA 13 Print 1 [1879 50 cent violet, thin paper, Perf 14 x 13.5 "Bicolor"] Mint with VF centering, full original gum and moderate hinging. Huge margins and nice, delicate color, with a very crisp impression. Because this printing was on very thin and crisp paper, it seems that most examples have some sort of defect. This is without any defects and is an outstanding example! Undamaged Mint examples of this stamp are missing from most collections.

13a, Facit #13b, AFA 13 Print 2 [1879 (1885 printing) 50 cent GRAY VIOLET, thick paper, Bicolor, Perf 14 x 13.5] Mint, no gum, with XF-Superb centering. A beautiful example with perfect perforation and excellent, correct color -- just missing its gum. [Some suggest that intentionally removing the gum may help to preserve the stamp.] The Facit 2022 value is SEK 3000, but examples that look this nice are seldom seen! A very scarce stamp that is seldom offered, but when #13a is offered in the general marketplace, it is often misidentified and is really a faded example of #13. This example is a correct #13a!
14b [1887 "1 CENT" surcharge on 7 cent violet and yellow (Print 1) Bicolor] Mint with full original gum, very lightly hinged, with F-VF+ centering. There are faint hints of aging on a couple of perforation tips and a tiny natural inclusion (bit of tree fiber) in the right margin, but most people would consider this to be a VF example. Extraordinary excellent perforations for this Print 1 stamp. Most examples on the market of Scott #14b are damaged and/or without gum; very few are this nice! Because most examples on the market seem to be in sub-standard quality (and many not described as such), I believe that this has led #14b to be undervalued in the catalogs. This is a very nice example of a scarce stamp. Of this printing, Facit says "at most 10,000" examples were printed, but only a small fraction of that have survived in Mint and in such nice quality.

14b [1887 "1 CENT" surcharge on 7 cent violet and yellow (Print 1) Bicolor] Mint with full original gum, but hinge remnant, with F-VF centering. Excellent perforations for this Print 1 stamp. NO defects -- most examples of Scott #14b are damaged and/or without gum. Because most examples on the market seem to be in sub-standard quality (and many not described as such), I believe that this has led #14b to be undervalued in the catalogs. This is a very nice example of a scarce stamp. Of this printing, Facit says "at most 10,000" examples were printed.

15 [1895 "10 CENTS 1895" Surcharge on 50 cent Bicolor] Mint, lightly hinged, with F-VF centering, great color, and perfect perforations. It is quite hard to find such nice examples of this stamps which was printed on thin paper and is often found damaged. The locally-applied overprint was printed with a plate of only 50 positions, struck twice on the sheet. There are many variations in the overprint characters from stamp to stamp. This example shows the "1" of 1895 to be bent and without serifs; the "8" is flattened on the left side and looks odd. Examples of this stamp in such attractive and fresh quality are a pleasure to see. Priced as a normal Mint F-VF example.
