Unless there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the images shown in this section are standard images of the issues from my image library; they are presented to show the designs of the stamp issues and not to show the specific individual stamps being offered. The centering of the stamps in the images is usually Superb or VF quality; again these are not images of the individual stamps being offered. Most early stamps had multiple printings, thus color shades vary greatly; the colors in the images are random printings/colors. If there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the image is of the actual item being offered.
All the listed conditions and qualities were in stock at the moment this list was prepared and I endeavor to maintain them in stock and to keep this website updated. However, my stock changes daily and (to paraphrase) good stamps are hard to find. If you are willing to accept a different grade or quality if an item is temporarily out of stock, please let me know when ordering (add a comment at the conclusion of the shopping cart process) and please also let me know of any alternates you will consider. Furthermore, new stamps are being put in stock every day; if the quality and/or condition you are seeking is not listed, please send your want list.
The publication of this list is a "first effort" in quite a long time. It surely includes a few errors; I will be grateful if you would inform me of any errors. Stamps "missing" from the list simply might not be included because they are not in stock or are singles which are normally only listed in full sets. Just the same if it seems like something obvious (and not a single from a set) is missing, please let me know. If you can offer for sale items that are not listed here, please do so; I especially need sources of pre-1930 mint (hinged or never hinged) stamps and recent used complete sets. Prices are subject to typographical error and change, but I will do my best to honor the listed prices to the extent of available stock.

152 [1921 25 mark M-17 Saarinen Lion, Watermark Posthorn] Used VF with cancellation of the proper type and appearance, but not showing the year date, thus cannot be proven to be timely use. Tip: The watermark on used examples of this stamp is always hard to see (I can see it, but some people might not), however, both watermarked stamps are Perf 14.25 x 14.75 (which this example is) whereas the unwatermarked stamp is Perf 14.

Scott #152 [1927 25 mk M-17 Saarinen Lion, Posthorn Watermark] Used with VF centering and fully-dated 15 May 1928 "HELSINKI (/ HELSINGFORS)" cancellation that is genuine and correct for the time period. [The "3" following the "28" year date is the time indicator, probably "3-6" as in 3-6 PM.] This high-denomination stamp was only available for sale from 21 December 1927 through 31 December 1930 -- the Saarinen Lion stamp design was invalidated for postage use starting 1 January 1931. While Mint examples of this stamp are "common" (though surprisingly hard to find), Used examples with a proper in-period cancellations are "very scarce" (Facit 2024 value SEK 1800!). However, fully-dated examples such as this can be described as "extremely scarce" or even "rare". So-called "Used" examples are regularly seen on the market, but is extremely unusual for them to include a clear year date, to say nothing of the complete date; the vast majority were canceled well after the normal period of use (conveniently not showing the year date). It has been a long time since I was last able to offer an example with a clear year date within the 1927-1930 period. Do not underestimate the scarcity of this correctly used stamp! 152 [1927 25 mk M-17 Saarinen Lion, Posthorn Watermark] Used VF example with partial HELSINGFORS cancellation that does NOT show a year date. My "philatelic spidey sense" tells me that this cancellation, might actually be okay, but since I cannot prove it, I am offering it as-is, as canceled-later example. While "used" examples are regularly seen on the market, it is extremely unusual for them to include a year date; the vast majority were canceled well after the normal period of use (usually conveniently not showing the year date). Again, this is offered as-is at a low price.
