Scott numbers have been given for these listings. If you would prefer to examine the stamps before purchasing, or you are any seeking stamps (or any condition or any quality) not listed here, please send your want list using your choice of Scott or Facit numbers.
Unless there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the images shown in this section are standard images of the issues from my image library; they are presented to show the designs of the stamp issues and not to show the specific individual stamps being offered. The centering of the stamps in the images is usually Superb or VF quality; again these are not images of the individual stamps being offered. Most early stamps had multiple printings, thus color shades vary greatly; the colors in the images are random printings/colors. If there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the image is of the actual item being offered.
All the listed conditions and qualities were in stock at the moment this list was prepared and I endeavor to maintain them in stock and to keep this website updated. However, my stock changes daily and (to paraphrase) good stamps are hard to find. If you are willing to accept a different grade or quality if an item is temporarily out of stock, please let me know when ordering (add a comment at the conclusion of the shopping cart process) and please also let me know of any alternates you will consider. Furthermore, new stamps are being put in stock every day; if the quality and/or condition you are seeking is not listed, please send your want list.
The publication of this list is a "first effort" in quite a long time. It surely includes a few errors; I will be grateful if you would inform me of any errors. Stamps "missing" from the list simply might not be included because they are not in stock or are singles which are normally only listed in full sets. Just the same if it seems like something obvious (and not a single from a set) is missing, please let me know. If you can offer for sale items that are not listed here, please do so; I especially need sources of pre-1930 mint (hinged or never hinged) stamps and recent used complete sets. Prices are subject to typographical error and change, but I will do my best to honor the listed prices to the extent of available stock.

152 [1921 25 mark M-17 Saarinen Lion, Watermark Posthorn] Used VF with cancellation of the proper type and appearance, but not showing the year date, thus cannot be proven to be timely use. Tip: The watermark on used examples of this stamp is always hard to see (I can see it, but some people might not), however, both watermarked stamps are Perf 14.25 x 14.75 (which this example is) whereas the unwatermarked stamp is Perf 14.

152 [1927 25 mk M-17 Saarinen Lion, Posthorn Watermark] Used VF example with partial HELSINGFORS cancellation that does NOT show a year date. My "philatelic spidey sense" tells me that this cancellation, might actually be okay, but since I cannot prove it, I am offering it as-is, as canceled-later example. While "used" examples are regularly seen on the market, it is extremely unusual for them to include a year date; the vast majority were canceled well after the normal period of use (usually conveniently not showing the year date). Again, this is offered as-is at a low price.

The M-17 Saarinen Lion issues were printed in sheets of 200 that were divided into two panes of 100 for sale at post offices. Each of the original 200-stamp printer sheets, which were not available to the public as such, contained a total of four plate blocks: upper and lower plate blocks in each of the extreme left and right margins (the central gutter did not have plate numbers). Thus the panes sold in post offices only contained EITHER right OR left plate blocks (upper and lower). While plate blocks of many Finnish issues are collected as plate blocks of six, the upper and lower positions of the M-17 Lion plate blocks can only be identified as such if in at least plate blocks of eight with the full selvage present -- but the plate blocks of ten look much more balanced. Plate blocks of six of the M-17 Lion issues are hard to find these days, but plate blocks larger than six of these issues are remarkably scarce these days. This Watermark Posthorn stamp exists with two possible plate numbers of similar scarcity and value: 133 and 149.This is the first upper right plate block of ten of this stamp that I have recorded offering in 52 years.
