Iceland: Bargains: Bargain Stamps - Scott #O20-O39 1902-1918 Officials: I Gildi Overprints and Two Kings
These bargain-priced stamps are attractive, but most have hidden flaws. You can save a tremendous amount of money when you add such stamps to your collection. Each stamp is one of a kind, so please let me know if I may substitute a different example (that looks as good or better, for the same cost) if the stamp you order has sold. If you have any doubts, all are available for approval viewing. If you are seeking stamps of this quality and price level from any of the Scandinavian countries, just send along your want list -- I will be happy to send bargains on approval. Scott numbers have been used unless otherwise stated.

Scott #O37 [1907 Official 20 aur Two Kings] NEVER HINGED, original gum, with Fine centering. This particular denomination is quite hard to find with centering better than Fine. Wonderfully fresh and bright, with great color and "perfect" perforations. This is the "key" value of the set in NH or Mint condition. For comparison, a NH VF example would be $90!

Scott #O39 [1918 Official 15 aur Two Kings, Perforation 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] NEVER HINGED, original gum, with Fine centering. This particular denomination is quite hard to find with centering better than Fine. Wonderfully fresh and bright, with great color and "pristine" NH gum. This 1918 stamp, with Crosses Watermark, only exists with an unusual looking war-time gum. Unlike the earlier Crown-watermarked Two Kings stamps, the war-time gum of this stamp is always dull and "grainy" and not shiny; it sometimes has a brushed-on appearance. All of that is completely normal and correct for this stamp. This stamp is fairly "scarce" in NH condition and is missing from many Iceland NH collections.
