Scott #23 PALE RED, Facit #22d [1872 20 öre red/orange shades Ringtype, Perforation 14] Used with Fine+ centering. A beautiful example of this scarcer color with delicate color, "perfect" perforations, and an XF-Superb SKÖFDE 26 November 1874 cancellation. Facit 2024 indicates that this color was produced in 1873 and 1874, which matches with the date of the cancellation. A very striking example of a color that is seldom offered and which is "remarkably scarce" with such a nice cancellation. ACTUAL item. |

Neat SPENSHULT 10 May 1938 village cancellations. Quite attractive example despite the perforations. Otherwise would be $55 for this quality and cancellation; the #273a single is in perfect quality. Scott #322 Very Light Greenish Blue, Facit #332cBB BOOKLET PAIR [1941 (1953-1957 Printing) 5 kronor Stockholm Royal Palace Booklet Issue] Used with VF centering. Crisp, Superbly centered 6 June 1957 "STOCKHOLM 16" town cancellation. The "BB" (booklet pairs with both stamps perforated on three sides) booklets were first issued 7 July 1953. Examples canceled in 1953-1957 are remarkably hard to find! The Facit Catalog numbers the 1953 (Dull) Light Blue printing as color "c" [for this printing, I do not agree with their word "Dull" in their color name] and the 1958 Dull Greenish Blue printing as color "d". However, as this 1957-canceled example demonstrates, there was ALSO a Very Light Greenish Blue color printed sometime in the 1953-1957 time period that either Facit does not list (or Facit should have used a 1957 year date instead of the 1958 year date for the their "d" color. Though this is common as a single stamp, attractive Used examples, without any defects, of the "BB" booklet pairs of THIS COLOR, CANCELED BEFORE the Facit-listed 1958 printing in Dull Greenish Blue, are remarkably hard to find.
