Queensland Revenue Stamp on Document: "QUEENSLAND / ADHESIVE / DUTY / 2d / TWO PENCE" apparent receipt tax stamp on 11 February 1944 receipt for the purchase, by two military officers, for a "18-ft sail boat complete with all gear", for 45 pounds! Central crease (away from stamp) and with minor edge wear. An interesting item of revenue philately, but also a great item for a sailing or sailboat collection. (Only 45 pounds for an 18-foot sailboat? Where can I get one?) ACTUAL item. |
