Denmark: Stamps: Scott 1-6
Scott numbers have been given for these listings. If you would prefer to examine the stamps before purchasing, or you are any seeking stamps (or any condition or any quality) not listed here, please send your want list using your choice of Scott, Facit, or AFA numbers.
Unless there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the images shown in this section are standard images of the issues from my image library; they are presented to show the designs of the stamp issues and not to show the specific individual stamps being offered. The centering of the stamps in the images is usually Superb or VF quality; again these are not images of the individual stamps being offered. Most early stamps had multiple printings, thus color shades vary greatly; the colors in the images are random printings/colors. If there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the image is of the actual item being offered.
All the listed conditions and qualities were in stock at the moment this list was prepared and I endeavor to maintain them in stock and to keep this website updated. However, my stock changes daily and (to paraphrase) good stamps are hard to find. If you are willing to accept a different grade or quality if an item is temporarily out of stock, please let me know when ordering (add a comment at the conclusion of the shopping cart process) and please also let me know of any alternates you will consider. Furthermore, new stamps are being put in stock every day; if the quality and/or condition you are seeking is not listed, please send your want list.
This list surely includes a few errors; I will be grateful if you would inform me of any errors you see. Stamps "missing" from the list simply might not be included because they are not in stock or are singles which are normally only listed in full sets. Just the same if it seems like something obvious (and not a single from a set) is missing, please let me know. If you can offer for sale items that are not listed here, please do so; I especially need sources of recent used complete sets. Prices are subject to typographical error and change, but I will do my best to honor the listed prices to the extent of available stock.

1a [1851 2 RBS, Ferslew Printing] Used F-VF, with two large margins and two small margins, with remarkably neat and clear #1 3-ring numeral cancellation. The Ferslew printing is unusual with a numeral postmark as the numeral cancelers did not come into use until very late in the use of the Ferslew-printed stamps. This stamp has a complicated situation. 1) The stamp is accompanied by a 1988 Carl Aage Møller color photo certificate stating that the stamp is Facit #1I (the first / Ferslew printing, Scott #1a), but textually it says it is the second / Thiele printing. I sent the stamp and certificate back to Møller and in March 2019 and he corrected the text of the certificate (to Ferslew), signing and dating it. 2) The certificate does not mention, and even though I pointed it out to Møller he did not correct it, that the stamp does have an ironed-out vertical filing fold. 3) The certificate states that the stamp is repaired in the lower margin. In my examination, I could not find evidence of the repair. However, what I think Møller is seeing is that there is a very sharp and embossed edge to the printing area at bottom, but that is a specific feature of the Plate II, Position 46 cliche (about which Møller and I do agree) and is clearly shown in the reference literature as such. I do not see a repair; instead I see contiguous paper and burelage along the entire bottom margin and up into the stamp. However, even if I am completely wrong about that, it is not very relevant because the bottom margin could simply be clipped away to make it a perfectly okay (except for the iron-out fold) 3-margin stamp. Any reduction in value is because of the fold, not because of the situation in the bottom margin. Facit 2020 value SEK 22,000 = about $2620 for a normal mute cancel and SEK 25,000 with a #1 cancel. Whether you want to think of this as a 3-margin stamp, or a 4-margin stamp with a questionable bottom margin, this is a scarce stamp that is missing from most collections; available at an extremely reasonable price of less than 25% of the basic catalog value!

6 [1857 16 skilling, Dotted Spandrels] Used VF-XF with ample to huge margins and crisp #181 (railway) numeral cancellation. The color is the expected grayish violet, with a very even impression. The top margin is the top sheet margin (i.e. from the first row); the right margin is so large that it may be a right sheet margin; the bottom margin is large and the left margin is ample. This stamp is unusual with such large margins and attractive appearance.
