Collections: World: Topical
I am constantly buying large and small collections and often have a variety of U.S. and Worldwide collections, lots, and accumulations available. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. Here are a few samples of collections. The listings below are included by happenstance. If you are seeking a particular country or type of material, please let me know. Payment plans are available. I guarantee your satisfaction.

Due to the low prices, variations in weight, and different mailing methods, distances, and destinations, shipping cost is additional for items in the Specials Collections listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.

Collections and lots are not normally sent on approval. If you have questions about an item, please inquire before ordering. Special return and refund limitations typically apply to such items. Please see the "Order Info" page for details.

Each item is one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of check if you prefer.

American March to Freedom Commemorative Panels Collection: Handsome collection of 40 different large illustrated commemorative panels telling the story of the American movement toward independence. Each bears mint stamp issues pertaining to the events being described on each respective panel. The narrative text ties together the American Bicentennial and related issues with the sequence of events which brought on the Revolutionary War and ending with the Treaty of Paris of 1783. Contained in an attractive dark blue illustrated binder in nice, protective plastic sleeves. A handsome presentation of an attractive and interesting subject. This price is a fraction of the original subscription cost! The panels are also suitable for framing and other displays -- they are a great way to introduce the public to stamp collecting.

1984 Olympic Games Commemorative Panels Collection: Large volume of 87 different commemorative panels honoring the 1984 Olympic Games, in a handsome dark blue leatherette binder in nice, protective plastic sleeves. Each panel has a large color photo of an Olympic event or athletes competing, plus a Mint VF set of stamps issued by different countries honoring the Games. Many of the stamp designs show the same event as pictured on that panel. A fabulous tribute to the Olympic Games and an impressive presentation of an ever-enduring sports topical. This price is a fraction of the original subscription cost and appears to be significantly below the value of the mint sets included. The panels are also suitable for framing and other displays -- they are a great way to introduce the public to stamp collecting.

Dogs Topical Collection -- Great For Dog Lovers : This is an unmounted collection / accumulation of approximately mostly-different 250 worldwide stamps and souvenir sheets picturing DOGS, plus there are many more stamps representing the balance of sets where only one value features a dog. There are also more than 100 covers, mostly cacheted first day covers from many different countries. Mostly 1970s-1980s (and earlier), the stamps are mostly NH in new issue envelopes or on dealers cards, virtually all VF. There is an enormous range of breeds and dog subjects, ranging from show dogs and pets to working dogs such as disability assistance dogs and Laika (the first dog in space). The collector had a special interest in huskies, thus there are many Arctic-theme items picturing dog sled teams. The best item I noticed was a NH Belgium Scott #B605a souvenir sheet (Scott $175). Mostly different, but with some very minor duplication. I did not take the time (so I do not have to charge more) to calculate the catalog value of the collection, but this will be a terrific deal! A wonderful start on this popular topic, or a significant addition to an existing collection!

Disney Selection in Lindner 64-Page Stockbook: Nice selection of 1980-1987 all-different Disney stamps from the usual various Disney-issuing countries. The stamps are neatly arranged on 26 pages of this modern 30-page = 60-sides Lindner stockbook, and appear to all be NH VF. There is a wide range of stamp issues including several souvenir sheets. Some of the stamps and souvenir sheets have surprisingly high Scott values. I do not have time to total it all up, but I would guess the individual actual selling prices would total over $100 and maybe quite a bit more. The Lindner #1169S (but has 60 sides, not 64) stockbook has black pages, clear rows, and glassine interleaving, with blue cover; all in excellent condition. Five years ago the new price for this stockbook was $49! It is a nice stockbook. Whether you want to think of this as a nice stockbook with some stamps, or some nice Disney stamps with a nice stockbook, it is well worth this price...

Space / Apollo Mission / Alan Shepard Stamp Collection in Two Volumes: A very attractive Space stamp collection on Kenmore Space stamp pages. In two volumes, one is a Kenmore 3-ring binder with cover text emphasizing Astronaut Alan Shepard -- and containing mostly stamp issues related to him; the other is a generic 3-ring binder, but with more of the same type of album pages. All the pages relate in some way to the Apollo Missions and appear to have been prepared in 1971 or soon thereafter. The stamps are mostly from the usual-suspect thematic countries of the era, many are CTO, but some are mint -- all are hinged -- but some of these have since attained more respect and more value. The Alan Shepard pages (the first volume) include interesting write-ups and images of Shepard and Apollo program activities. It is hard to believe that nearly 50 years has passed since those historic times! I have not attempted to total up the individual value, but I assure you that at this price, the collection is a terrific bargain!

The Presidents of the United States of America Historical Cover Collection: A surprising interesting and attractive collection prepared by Fleetwood. Each of the first 38 presidents (through Carter) is represented by a cacheted cover postmarked in a relevant 1977 town postmark (such as birthplace). For each president, there is extensive, well-written text by David C. Whitney, and a portrait -- typically four pages per president. In total there are 222 pages, 3-ring in a handsome, gold embossed, deluxe binder in a nice slip case. This type of prepared collection can often be a little "over the top", but this is really nicely done and is very interesting and attractive -- you can actually read this like a book if you want. The whole collection (covers, pages, binder, and slip case) are in pristine, like-new condition. In addition to being an interesting philatelic subject, this is a terrific educational item. All this for just $1 per presidential term!
