Worldwide Minkus Master Global Album in Two Volumes, With Stamps: Minkus Master Global album, 1958 edition, with supplements to 1962, house in two huge blue two-post binders. "The most complete and comprehensive stamp album ever published" so said the album publisher. The album is very sparsely populated, containing hundreds (perhaps more than one thousand) stamps scattered throughout; mostly common, but includes a few mint sets. Virtually all at least F-VF or VF. The album pages are in excellent, clean condition and the stamps are all very neatly hinged. No longer published, these albums are sought after. With spaces for over 56,000 stamps, this is a pleasing album set well suited for expansion of a worldwide collection of older foreign stamps. |

Worldwide Collection to 1940 in Scott International Album: Collection of a few thousand different from 19th century to 1940, mint and used, neatly mounted in a Scott International album, Volume 1, 1943 edition. Representation is strongest in the European countries, but you will also find a significant number of stamps from many small countries around the world, including Latin America, and various Colonial issues. My understanding is that many years ago, the father of the most recent owner transferred some stamps to a newer album, thus some stamps have been removed. However, much remains, including stamps that will be very useful to an intermediate collector. One helpful feature: the vast majority have pencilled catalog numbers nearby, making identification enormously easier. Quality varies as typical, but the overwhelming majority will be F-VF or VF. The binder and pages are NOT suitable for continuation. Overall, this is much better than usual for an 80 year old collection. You will find many stamps which were priced very low 80 years ago and now catalog in the $1-3 (or more) range. Any general, intermediate worldwide collector is sure to enjoy adding many stamps to his or her collection! |
