Collections: World: Worldwide
I am constantly buying large and small collections and often have a variety of U.S. and Worldwide collections, lots, and accumulations available. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. Here are a few samples of collections. The listings below are included by happenstance. If you are seeking a particular country or type of material, please let me know. Payment plans are available. I guarantee your satisfaction.

Due to the low prices, variations in weight, and different mailing methods, distances, and destinations, shipping cost is additional for items in the Specials Collections listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.

Collections and lots are not normally sent on approval. If you have questions about an item, please inquire before ordering. Special return and refund limitations typically apply to such items. Please see the "Order Info" page for details.

Each item is one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of check if you prefer.

Huge Worldwide Minkus Global Set of 26 Albums With Stamps: Set of 26 Minkus Global Albums containing perhaps 20,000 stamps. The pages were added in 3 stages. Pages up to the early 1960s are the compact page layouts with squares close together, without spaces for scarcer stamps; probably the Master Global type. From the early 1960s onward, the pages appear to be complete for all stamps issued; I assume the Supreme Global type. From the 1980s-onward, the pages are even newer and fresher, continuing the better type. The pages installed in the binders appear to be complete through the 2012 supplement. (The pages are installed upside down in the binders; perhaps the previous owner was left-handed. It does not affect the usability.) The brand-new 2013 (parts 1 and 2) supplement is present, but not installed. The PARTS NUMBER ONE of each of the 2014, 2015, and 2016 supplements are also present, but not installed. (Parts Number Two of 2014, 2015, and 2016 are available from Scott: amosadvantage.com MGL214, MGL215, and MGL216. 2017 is also available and 2018 will be soon.)

The binders are a mix of Minkus Supreme Global binders and Minkus Master Global binders. There are 5 rounded-back binders and 21 square-back binders; the latter look like-new. This includes two empty binders to accommodate the supplements present but not yet installed. Some slip cases are also present: 5 blue (new looking), 1 red (newer but not new), and 2 older red.

What is WONDERFUL about this album is that the pages of each country are all together in one place. Surely it took days of work to organize in this (best) way! (Originally the pages of each country were spread over the entire range of binders.)

To my knowledge, this album is no longer available in new condition as a complete set. I do not see many nice album sets like this these days. If this album were available new, the cost would probably be over $3500 (perhaps over $4500?)! Plus shipping!

The annual supplements are still being published (by Scott who now owns the Minkus brand). The current total new cost of the new album page supplements as they are issued is around $250+ per year (it is a LOT of pages). Additional binders are also still sold (around $45).

The BIG BONUS is that this album set already contains approximately (this is only an estimate) 1000 stamps per binder, thus very likely over 20,000 stamps! In looking through the binders, no scarce stamps jumped out at me, however I have not had time to do more than glance through. It is likely that most of the stamps are fairly common, but here and there I do see singles and sets that sell for $1-3 or perhaps more.

There are a couple ways to look at how this LOW PRICE breaks down. I figured it at 26 binders at about $55 per binder (i.e. album pages AND binder), plus approximately 20,000 stamps at 3 cents per stamp. That totals over $2000! Remember that the majority of the binders alone (EMPTY!) would cost around $45 each today, new. And just the last decade of supplements would run $200 to $250 PER YEAR. Maybe you will think the stamps are only worth an average of 2 cents each, or maybe you will discover that they are worth an average of 8 cents each (i.e. around $1600). No matter how you decide to break down the value, this is a bargain at this low price.

SHIPPING IS ADDITIONAL and will vary depending upon distance. It is very heavy and it does NOT qualify for "media mail". I will only ship this within the U.S. and only by post office. (If you are within a few hundred miles might prefer to drive to pick it up, thus saving a lot.) Let me know if you need further shipping information.

If you have been wanting to start a worldwide collection, this is a wonderful way to get a running start. If you already have a worldwide collection, but it is spread out in various stockbooks and notebooks and needs a proper set of albums, this would be a terrific solution.

Worldwide Floor Sweepings: A highly diverse accumulation of thousands, mint and used, filling a sizable carton. Much is older material collected in the 1960s. This includes a couple of beginner collections. There is a worn 1921 Scott International Junior album with many useful stamps but unfortunately with many (but not all) of the mint stuck down. Also there is a collection of older Austria on quadrille pages, as well as two large worldwide stockbooks with collectors duplicates accumulated in the 1960s. Rounding out this offering is a wide variety of quantities of loose stamps, some sorted by countries in glassines, plus much on-and-off paper mixtures in plastic bags and even a few covers. Quality varies as typical, but the overwhelming majority will be F-VF or better. This one should provide you with many hours of sifting and sorting pleasure!

Worldwide Floor Sweepings: Accumulation of thousands of stamps filling a sizable carton. There are beginner collections including a 1956 Regent album and a somewhat better one with lots of large-size pictorials in a 1974 Harris Ambassador album. There is a small United Nations collection of the 1950s in an official UNPA album. Also there is a stockbook remainder of U.S. including some revenues and a set of Famous Americans with no gum, plus scattered British with some high-catalog Great Britain in poor quality including a #96 space filler. You will also find a wide-ranging selection in 8 large dealer approval books mounted in the 1970s, plus quantities of on- and off-paper mixture in glassines and plastic bags. Quality varies as typical, but overall generally F-VF or VF. This hoard will provide you with hours of sorting pleasure. Happy hunting!
