Collections: World: Worldwide
I am constantly buying large and small collections and often have a variety of U.S. and Worldwide collections, lots, and accumulations available. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. Here are a few samples of collections. The listings below are included by happenstance. If you are seeking a particular country or type of material, please let me know. Payment plans are available. I guarantee your satisfaction.

Due to the low prices, variations in weight, and different mailing methods, distances, and destinations, shipping cost is additional for items in the Specials Collections listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.

Collections and lots are not normally sent on approval. If you have questions about an item, please inquire before ordering. Special return and refund limitations typically apply to such items. Please see the "Order Info" page for details.

Each item is one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of check if you prefer.

Worldwide Collection Balance to 1940 in Scott International 1947 Album: 19th Century to 1940 mounted collection balance of a few thousand different stamps, mint and used, in 1947 bound (not post binder) Scott International Album, Part I (1840-1940, U.S. and A-Z). This is the full International, not the International Junior; quite unusual and in fair condition (pages in good condition, binding fair and has been repaired a bit). While it is clear that stamps have been removed from this collection (thus we call it a "balance"), sometime in the modern era somebody added some stamps in neat clear modern mounts (odd a 70 year old album). One could potentially even continue the collection in this album. Contents somewhat scattered (as usual), with here and ther a country such as Bosnia or Central Lithuania which is much better represented. There is some U.S., including medium values in variable quality and decent coverage of the 1920-1940 issues. There is a fair number of large-size and commemorative issues, including in Latin America the ubiquitous colorful Seebeck issues. While quality varies (as typical in vintage collections), the overwhelming majority are F-VF or VF. You will find many stamps with catalog values of more than $1 -- this is better than usual in that regard for such an album. You should be able to spend quite a few enjoyable hours extracting useful bits from this old collection!

Worldwide Collection in 1935 Scott International Junior Album: While this collection does contain a few hundred stamps, the album itself is perhaps more interesting. I am not sure when the Scott International Junior album was first published, but it continued into the mid-1940s. For those examples that I see, 1935 is fairly early. It is a hard cover album, about 2 inches thick, with a flexible spine. Because they were usually used by juniors, most examples of them are in terrible condition. This example is one of the nicest of an edition this early that I have seen in a long time: The covers and spine are in fairly good condition (certainly some wear, but not beaten up as usual), but the pages are in really excellent condition and that is what got my attention. It does contain a few hundred (maybe 500???) worldwide stamps, none later than the 1930s. The stamps are various mint and used , and are certainly mostly common, but I do see a few here and there that catalog in the $1-4 range. Most of the mint stamps are without gum (which in this case appears intentional?). The overall stamp quality is much nicer than usual in such an album and I only saw a couple stamps that were stuck. It appears that a few stamps may have been removed, or maybe just moved around, over the years, but this is NOT a "remainder". I cannot spend a lot of time on a collection like this, so there may be more here than I am noticing -- but no guarantees of course. I already have an example of this edition in my "old albums collection" (yes, it is true, I do accumulate / collect old albums), otherwise I would keep this for myself. A very nice piece of 85-year-old philatelic history; worth the price either for the stamps or the album.

Worldwide Collection in 1966 Harris Statesman Album: An excellent and very clean example of this album, with 2.5-inch Statesman binder in near-new condition and the pages as clean and nice as I have ever seen. Contains only a few hundred stamps, with more U.S. (1880s-1960s) than other countries which are mostly very sparse. The value of the stamps is minimal, however, because the album is in such great shape, this would be very helpful for getting a youngster involved in collecting -- the size and scope of the album is quite manageable for a youngster. Also, if you have a Statesman binder in need of replacement, this is what you need.
