There is an interesting range of new items on the website:
 Finland Covers on the New Arrivals page; many very interesting items.
Faroe Scott #240a 1992 Seals with right margin. Extremely scarce, little known variety. The first one I have had in many, many years.
U.S. Duck Stamps. A good presentation of early to modern issues in all price ranges.
Laos Stamps; the KEY SETS in very nice condition.
Collections and Albums: There are some great bargains to be had among the newly added collections and albums here, as well as those already on the website.
Over the last few weeks, I have added a range of attractive U.S. stamps to the website with quite a few better quality items that would fetch high numerical grades. | The International Polar Year book contains all 8 souvenir sheets and many very interesting and informative pages of text and pictures. It does cost more than the souvenir sheets alone, but it has been extremely popular and was an instant sellout in several of the countries. $77.50 plus shipping. |
A recent Linn's advertisement by one of the larger companies (August 20, 2007, Mystic) made it clear that my prices on the International Polar Year issues are quite low.

| 3. Sweden Linné Issues and Blackprints |

2007 is the 300th anniversary of the birth of Carl von Linné, certainly one of the most important pioneers in the Natural Sciences. Whether or not we are aware of it, the impact of Linné's work is felt every day by each and every one of us.
In celebration, Sweden has issued two coil stamps (in January 2007) and a souvenir sheet (in May 2007).
These are not the first Swedish stamps issued to commemorate Linné. Sweden issued stamps in 1939 (portrait), 1963 (Linné's home), 1978 (various scenes and subjects), and perhaps others I am forgetting. All the earlier issues are in stock, including NH stamps, Hinged stamps, Used stamps, FDCs, postally used covers, booklets, etc. Please let me know what you are seeking and I will be happy to send on approval.
The 2007 issues are in stock, as follows:
Set of 2 NH VF coil stamps: $ 4.65
Set of 2 coil stamps on one FDC: $ 7.50
Set of 2 coil stamps on one Collectors Sheet (souvenir page) [now scarce; only a couple left]: $ 12.00
Souvenir Sheet NH VF: $ 6.25
Souvenir Sheet issue on official cacheted FDC: $ 9.25 (The official FDC only bears the pair of stamps from the s/s.)
COMPLETE Souvenir Sheet on private non-cacheted FDC: $ 16.50 (Had to be privately arranged at some expense; these will likely be extremely scarce!)
As with other recent souvenir sheets, this souvenir sheet exists with Cylinder #1 and #2 numbers and counting numbers (called "kn"). The counting numbers, at the extreme right side, are a bit hard to see against the design of the flowers. There are four possible combinations 1, 1+kn, 2, and 2+kn -- some seem to be scarcer than others, but my prices are all the same for the moment. See the pictures below. Very limited supply!

THE BLACKPRINTS: The Swedish post office printed a very limited quantity of a deluxe book about Carl von Linné with many great pictures and interesting text (fully in Swedish, German, and English). Included in the book are the two coil stamps and the souvenir sheet, as well as blackprints of the engraved portions of both coil stamps and the souvenir sheet. This book is the only source for the blackprints! This handsome book will be of great interest to anybody who collects Swedish stamps or who has an interest in Swedish History, the Natural Sciences, or the History of Science.
I was planning on including some pictures from the book, but I did not want to "overload" the E-News. Besides, it would be hard to pick out just a few pictures!
I still have a few copies of the book available, but when I run out, I suspect that I will not be able to obtain more. If you want it, get it NOW! The price is only $45.00 plus shipping.

Sometimes a person gets lucky. Linn's Stamp News [new window] "Stamp Market Tips" column for August 20, 2007 has a "Tip of the Week" that I have in stock. Though the Linn's editors were unable to find any examples of this item in their own Zillionsofstamps website, I have it in stock!
I have 9 complete NH VF sets of Canada Scott #1818-34 souvenir sheets available, at $69.00 per set. You can buy one set -- or if you are fast, you can buy them all. The "Tips" author said "...are in short supply and worth buying if you can find them offered at or near the Scott catalog value of $76.50..."
Given the popularity of Canadian stamps and Millennium issues in general (to say nothing of the myriad of topics shown on these stamps), this is going to be a winner -- I suspect that the value will rise dramatically in the next few years.

#731374 Finland Mint Collection 1891-1975 on Scott Pages
Neat group of Scott Specialty pages (punched for 2-post binder, pages starting with 1891), with good range of Mint stamps. Light coverage up to 1950 but well-filled thereafter. Includes very good range of semi-postal stamps. Neatly hinged (seems to be very good, peelable hinges) on pages very clean and attractive. The quality almost universally VF. JSA retail (mint hinged prices) is over $610 with any potential paper varieties counted at the least costly possibility. A great and inexpensive way to get a lot of stamps and the album pages too. $349.00

Complete set of Scott Specialty pages (punched for 2-post binder, pages starting with 1856), with very nice range of Used stamps. Collection of about 92 different unaddressed first day covers with official cachets. Appears to be mostly in complete sets with NY, Geneva, and Vienna issues for the period. Includes wide range of topics including environment, women, art, handicapped, law, economics, and much more. Contained in new-looking (really nice) White Ace "United Nations Covers" blue 100-cover binder. Scott value around $100. Great price! $29.00

Scott Master Canada (and Territories) Stamp Album in very nice used condition with pages to about 1981. Modest, but attractive collection ranging from 1870 to 1980. Mostly used, but some mint stamps, mostly in F-VF or VF condition. Perhaps some faults in earlier issues as usual, but valued appropriately. Canada fairly well filled, with the stamps attractively presented in black Showgard mounts. I have not counted the Canada catalog value, but it is probably around $100+. New Brunswick $40 stamp not counted. Newfoundland 2008 Scott catalog value around $65. A great new home for a collection you already have or a great start on a new collection. #731376 Worldwide Collection in Scott Album 1840-1940
Collection of many hundreds (maybe 1-2000?), mint and used in a venerable Blue Scott International album, 1840-1940. Enormous range of countries represented (not U.S.). Some scattered medium to better values in variable condition. There are some faults (as to be expected in general collections of this period), and some of the mint are lightly stuck (can be removed with care), but the overwhelming majority will be F-VF to VF. Binder is worn but the album pages are ok. I note a few perfins and revenues, and even a couple forgeries of cheap stamps. Surely no rarities, but perhaps a few surprises. An enjoyable lot if you like old collections to pore through! $69.00

Set of two 4-ring binders, one maroon and one brown, gold-stamped "Royal Mail Presentation Packs". Contains a total of about 34 clear plastic pages (with black dividers). Except for a couple full-size pages, each page holds four covers (or packs or whatever) measuring up to about 8.5 x 4.75 inches (maybe a tiny bit smaller). Will hold about 130 covers. Very nice used condition. Very useful "utility" cover albums that can hold just about anything -- at a great price! $19.00
