11b [1870 2 skilling Sword and Scepter, Line Perf 12.5] Used with Average-Fine centering and neat #51 [Odense] 3-ring numeral cancellation. The perforations nearly touch the left frame line, but the other margins are huge and even. The perforations are unusually clean for this notoriously poorly (line) perforated stamp issue. Wonderful, bright color. This stamp is accompanied by a Jay Smith color image certificate with lifetime guarantee (further details of the guarantee are available). Facit 2024 value SEK 3,000 (around $300 1/2024) and AFA 2023 value DKK 2,800 (around $420 1/2024). An attractive example of a stamp that is missing from most Danish collections. [C#02852-01-002]

12b [1870 3 sk Arms Line Perforation 12.5] Used VF centered example with neat numeral cancellation, better-than-usual perforations, and strong color. However is creased, but that is not visible from the front. The Line Perf 12.5 stamps are scarce; the AFA 2010 catalog value is DKK 6000 = $1100 [10/2010] for normal quality! Very attractive and very reasonably priced.

Scott #13 [1864 4 sk Crown, Scepter, Sword] Used with XF centering and brilliant color, but with couple short perforations on the left side. Very bright, fresh appearance. Very unusual small "X" manuscript postmark. Manuscript postmarks are seldom seen on this issue.

14b [1870 8 skilling Sword and Scepter, Line Perf 12.5] Used with VF centering and neat #1 [København] 3-ring numeral cancellation. The perforations are remarkably rough on the top and sides -- to the point that this really should be a collectible variety -- but they are clean at the bottom, thus it is easy to confirm that this is the Line Perforation 12.5. Excellent, strong color. This stamp is accompanied by a Jay Smith color image certificate with lifetime guarantee (further details of the guarantee are available). Facit 2024 value SEK 4,500 (around $450 1/2024) and AFA 2023 value DKK 4,500 (around $675 1/2024). An attractive example of a stamp that is missing from most Danish collections. I have only had a very few examples of this scarce stamp in the last two decades! [C#02852-01-004]

Scott #15, AFA #15.1x variety. Printing 1, July 1864 (Dark Greenish Gray on Whitish Paper) [1864 16 skilling Crown, Sword, and Scepter; Comb Perforation 13 x 12.5] Used with Superb centering and neat, light but readable, perfectly centered #7 [Assens] numeral cancellation. AFA-listed plate (matrix) variety #15x: "thick oval frame line outside of "G" of "KGL" is very uneven". Extremely nice perforations (the small variance in tooth width is normal and expected for this issue); such nice perforation quality is seldom found on this stamp. A wonderfully attractive example of a stamp that is seldom found so nicely centered, and with a perfectly centered cancellation, and with a plate variety -- and seldom found without any defects! A superior example!

Scott #15, AFA #15.3x variety. Printing 3, December 1869 (Greenish Olive on Yellowish Paper) [1864 16 skilling Crown, Sword, and Scepter; Comb Perforation 13 x 12.5] Used with XF/Superb centering and neat, light but clear #70 [Svendborg] numeral cancellation (placed sideways). However, on the reverse -- not visible from the front -- there is an ancient stamp album mounting stain spot. AFA-listed plate (matrix) variety #15x: "thick oval frame line outside of "G" of "KGL" is very uneven". This Third Printing is the scarcest of the three printings. Extremely nice perforations (the small variance in tooth width is normal and expected for this issue); such nice perforation quality is seldom found on this stamp. A wonderfully attractive example! If not for the spot on the reverse, this would be $250 for this centering, without counting the AFA premium value for the variety!
