P1 [1907 1 øre Newspaper, Crown Watermark] Mint with VF centering. This is not a scarce stamp in ordinary quality, but Mint VF examples are remarkably hard to find!

Scott #P1 INVERTED WATERMARK [1907 1 øre Newspaper, Perforation 12.75, Watermark Crown] Used with VF appearance, but with a couple shorter perforation teeth on the lower left side (but they are camouflaged by the cancellation). There were 7 printings of this stamp. I know that inverted watermarks exist on more than one of the printings, but I do not know on how may of the printings the inverted watermarks exist. It would be very interesting to collect different printings (color shades) with inverted watermark.

P4 INVERTED WATERMARK [1907 10 øre Newspaper, Crown Watermark] Mint, lightly hinged, with centering that is just barely Fine (just clears the perforations). Very obvious inverted watermark. Despite the centering, this example is wonderfully fresh with great color and excellent perforations.

A nice example of a stamp that is surprisingly hard to find in Never Hinged or Mint Hinged condition. In my experience, NH examples of this stamp are grossly undervalued in the catalogs.

Scott #P9 [1907 5 kr Newspaper (Avisporto), Watermark Crown] Used with XF centering and great overall appearance with neat, light, BLUE cancellation, bright colors, and perfect perforations. There are three printings / colors of this stamp. This example is the Rose and Dark Olive Green; this rose is in the middle of the three frame colors and this Dark Olive Green is between the Light Olive Green and the Dark Green. A very nice example!

A nice and obvious example of the variety.

Scott #P14 [1915 8 øre Green Newspaper, Perforation 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] Mint, lightly hinged, with Fine centering and original gum. Pre-printing paper fold, almost horizontal across the stamp at the top of the "8", leaving some small, but visible printing ink gaps due to the fold. Pre-printing paper folds are remarkably unusual on the Danish Newspaper stamps. Wonderfully fresh and bright, with "perfect" perforations. A normal Mint Hinged example with identical centering would be $36.75 (and VF would be $70). A scarce variety priced very low!

Scott #P17 [1915 29 øre Newspaper, Perforation 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] Used with Superb centering and neat, fully dated 21 November 1916 cancellation. Huge, even margins and "perfect" perforations. A wonderful example of a stamp that is remarkably scarce with such nice centering. This is certainly one of the nicest Used examples I have had in 53 years.

Scott #P18 [1914 38 øre Newspaper, Perforation 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] Used with F-VF centering, but with a thin in the hinge area. Attractive with excellent perforations, a neat March 1915 cancellation, and very bright color! This is the key of the Danish Newspaper Stamps and is quite hard to find at a reasonable price. For comparison, a VF centered example without any defects would be $210 (April 2026). A handsome example at a great price!

Scott #P18 [1914 38 øre Newspaper, Perf 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] Used with Just-Fine centering, excellent perforations, and very bright color! This is the key of the Danish Newspaper Stamps and is quite hard to find at a reasonable price. For comparison, a VF centered example would be $210!

Scott #P18, AFA #Avis 18x [1914 38 øre Newspaper, Perforation 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] AFA-listed PLATE VARIETY: "Color line in left margin near top" only from plate position 22. This plate variety developed after the Crown Watermark stamps were printed; it can only exist on the Crosses Watermarked stamps. This variety is not some tiny speck; this is a large and obvious line in the margin. Only 195 sheets of this Crosses Watermarked stamp were printed, thus only 195 examples of this variety originally existed! This is a "rare" variety, valued by the AFA Specialized Catalog 2016 (still the most recent edition as of 4/2026) at DKK 2800 (approximately US$448 4/2026) in Used condition, which is a 133% premium for the variety. Used with Just-Fine centering and heavy, but fully dated, 1 October 1914 cancellation. The cancellation is completely clear of the variety area. A reasonable example of a very seldom offered "rare" plate variety -- only 195 were printed; surely very few examples still survive today!

P19 [1915 41 øre Newspaper, Crosses Watermark] Mint with F-VF centering. A nice looking example, but under very close examination, there is some minor gum disturbance. I believe that this disturbance occurred during production; that the not-quite-dry sheets were stacked up too soon. It is only noticeable under 10x magnification. Great color and nice overall appearance. Nice Mint examples of this stamp are quite hard to find. Otherwise this centering would be $97.
