Scott numbers have been given for these listings. If you would prefer to examine the stamps before purchasing, or you are any seeking stamps (or any condition or any quality) not listed here, please send your want list using your choice of Scott, Facit, or AFA numbers.
Unless there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the images shown in this section are standard images of the issues from my image library; they are presented to show the designs of the stamp issues and not to show the specific individual stamps being offered. The centering of the stamps in the images is usually Superb or VF quality; again these are not images of the individual stamps being offered. Most early stamps had multiple printings, thus color shades vary greatly; the colors in the images are random printings/colors. If there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the image is of the actual item being offered.
All the listed conditions and qualities were in stock at the moment this list was prepared and I endeavor to maintain them in stock and to keep this website updated. However, my stock changes daily and (to paraphrase) good stamps are hard to find. If you are willing to accept a different grade or quality if an item is temporarily out of stock, please let me know when ordering (add a comment at the conclusion of the shopping cart process) and please also let me know of any alternates you will consider. Furthermore, new stamps are being put in stock every day; if the quality and/or condition you are seeking is not listed, please send your want list.
This list surely includes a few errors; I will be grateful if you would inform me of any errors you see. Stamps "missing" from the list simply might not be included because they are not in stock or are singles which are normally only listed in full sets. Just the same if it seems like something obvious (and not a single from a set) is missing, please let me know. If you can offer for sale items that are not listed here, please do so; I especially need sources of recent used complete sets. Prices are subject to typographical error and change, but I will do my best to honor the listed prices to the extent of available stock.

Q4 [1919 POSTFÆRGE (postal ferry) overprint on 15 øre dark lilac Christian X] Mint with lower two stamps NEVER HINGED, 4-BLOCK with XF centering. Wonderfully fresh -- the lower two NH stamps are as nice as the day they were printed. Mint blocks of this stamp are scarce and even nicely centered NH singles are quite difficult to find. Offered at less than the break-up value for the four single XF (two NH) stamps!

Outstanding example of a scarce multiple with the bonus of an early type of cancellation. Listed by the 2017 (most recent at this writing) AFA Block Catalog at DKK 1500 (about $240 5/2022) for the most common color/printing.

Q4 [1919 15 øre lilac Christian X] Used with F-VF centering and excellent strike (for this) of the early "AGGERSUND FÆRGERI" (Aggersund Ferry) Crown and Posthorn violet cancellation with serifed letters and narrow spacing between the rings. It is often forgotten that these stamps were used only on a few ferry lines. In this case, the use on the ferry from Aggersund to Løgstør -- in the north of Denmark (200 km from most of the later use on the west coast between Esbjerg and Fanø) was the only use of a Crown and Posthorn style cancellation on the Postfærge stamps. While this cancellation was normally used in the early period, examples this complete and clearly struck are seldom offered.

Q4 [1919 15 øre lilac Christian X] Used 4-Block with Fine centering and neat strikes of the violet, straight-line proper cancellation. There were three types of straight-line "Fanø-Esbjerg Færgeri" cancellations with SERIFED LETTERS; this is the type with the smallest letters and shortest total length, about 38 mm. This example shows the cancellation about as clearly and neatly as one can find struck on stamps. A nice example of a scarce multiple with the bonus of an early type of cancellation. Listed by the 2017 (most recent at this writing) AFA Block Catalog at DKK 1500 (about $240 5/2022) for the most common color/printing without regard for the early cancellation.

Q4 Gray Lilac, Facit #PF2b, AFA #PF2a-1 [1919 15 øre Christian X, Gray Lilac, with POSTFÆRGE overprint] Used, with XF centering and neat, correct violet cancellation (crown and posthorn type, but very light). This was actually the first overprinting of the 15 øre, using the first overprint plate; the lilac-violet stamps were overprinted later using overprint plate 3 (with wider spacing between the F and Æ). Thus this is not just a color difference, but it is also an overprint difference. Beautiful example with delicate color.
