Scott #1 (Facit #1II, AFA #2b) [1852 2 RBS dark blue, Typographed Burelage, Thiele Printing] Used with VF appearance, with four ample to large margins, but with a sealed tear "hidden" under the "1" of the bold #1 numeral cancellation. I suspect that the sealed tear was actually caused by the pressure of the "1" part of the canceler. Attractive and fresh with nicely contrasting dark ink color and white paper. This is a very reasonably priced example of a scarce stamp that is missing from most collections. Accompanied by a Jay Smith photo certificate with lifetime guarantee. Facit 2024 value SEK 11,000 ($1050 2/2025) and AFA 2023 value DKK 9000 ($1300 2/2025). ACTUAL item. |

Scott #10 [1863 16 skilling Rouletted) Used Fine centering and four margins (two large), but with a deeply-pulled roulette tooth. Otherwise this has very nice color, intact rouletting (it often gets trimmed off), and an extremely light numeral cancellation. For comparison, if not for the pulled roulette, the price would be $425 for this centering! A very low priced example of this scarce stamp that is missing from most collections. ACTUAL item. |
