These bargain-priced stamps are attractive, but many have described hidden flaws. You can save a tremendous amount of money when you add such stamps to your collection. Each stamp is one of a kind, so please let me know if I may substitute a different example (that looks as good or better, for the same cost) if the stamp you order has sold. If you have any doubts, all are available for approval viewing. If you are seeking stamps of this quality and price level from any of the Scandinavian countries, just send along your want list -- I will be happy to send bargains on approval. Scott numbers have been used unless otherwise stated.

Scott #27 [1879 5 øre Bicolor, Perforation 14 x 13.5, Normal Frame] Mint with Fine (typical) centering. The gum appears to be original, but has been heavily disturbed -- it could be called "partial gum". Otherwise, attractive with great color and excellent perforations. This is a reasonable-looking example at a very low price! Otherwise this centering would be $26.50.

Scott #31b, AFA #28y.1b, Facit #34a. Printing 1b (Thick Inverted Frame) [1875 20 øre Bicolor, Perforation 14 x 13.5] Mint, original gum, moderately hinged, with fairly typical (for this printing) Average centering. The lower right corner perforation is rounded. Otherwise a fresh example with nice color. All of the Printing 1 one stamps have THICK FRAMES. Printing 1a stamps are Dark Red and Gray; Printing 1b stamps are Dull Red and Light Gray. All of the Printing 1a and 1b stamps have Inverted (Thick) Frames, except for sheet position 56 which has a Normal (Thick) Frame. Despite the catalog value of Mint Printing 1a and 1b stamps being about the same as some of the other printings of this 20 øre issue, in my experience, Mint examples of Printing 1b stamps are significantly scarcer. The AFA Specialized Catalog 2016 (still the most recent edition as of June 2026) value for Mint Printing 1b is DKK 850 or about US$128 (6/2026).
