Scott #26 [1875 4 øre Bicolor, Perf 14 x 13.5] NEVER HINGED, original gum, with Just-Fine centering. A fresh and bright example with great color, excellent perforations (always slightly irregular on these because of bent perforating pins), and correct, proper NH gum. The centering is only Just Fine (just clears the perforations), but that is not unusual for NH or Mint examples of this stamp. This is a later printing, with greenish-gray frame, greenish-blue center, and yellowish-white paper. Regardless of the specific printing (there were 75 printings!) and that 400 million were printed, this workhorse stamp was exhausted for normal postal use. Very few NH examples remain today, as shown by the Facit Classic Catalog 2024 NH value of SEK 900 (US$90)! This is priced appropriately for the centering. ACTUAL item. |

Scott #27 [1879 5 øre Bicolor, Perforation 14 x 13.5, Normal Frame] Mint with Fine (typical) centering. The gum appears to be original, but has been heavily disturbed -- it could be called "partial gum". Otherwise, attractive with great color and excellent perforations. This is a reasonable-looking example at a very low price! Otherwise this centering would be $26.50. ACTUAL item. |
