Scott #BK24 Edition 297 COMPLETE BOOKLET (containing Scott #226a x1, 227a x1, 228a x5), SG #BB28 Edition 297 (containing SG #453-5 in booklet panes) [1935 3 sh Silver Jubilee BOOKLET; red text on cream cover.] The #226a and #227a panes, and ONE of the #228a panes have INVERTED WATERMARKS. NEVER HINGED in Superb overall quality, with VF or better centered stamps in the panes. Wonderfully fresh and clean, with NO bends of the cover and NO rounding of the cover corners. This is edition 297 (printed lower right of front cover); the back cover bears a "TURBAN STONED DATES" advertisement. Editions 294-297 exist of this 3 sh booklet. Inverted watermark examples of these three stamps usually come from the booklets where approximately half the panes produced were inverted. The inverted watermark panes have a premium value of approximately 20% in SG. Crisp, bright, and immaculate! An important item needed for many 1935 Silver Jubilee omnibus collections. (The Scott 2025 value of the complete booklet needs to be updated. The complete booklet section in the 2025 Scott, which has not been updated for a while, has a value of $100, however, the 7 individual panes, with normal watermark, have a total Scott 2025 value of $185; allowing for the inverted watermark premium, the adjusted total would be around $207! Never Hinged with VF overall quality and F-VF or better centered stamps. An attractive example that can be used to "illustrate" the exterior appearance of this booklet issue. This is edition 294 (printed lower right of front cover); the back cover bears a "SHREDDED WHEAT" advertisement. Editions 294-297 exist of this 3 sh booklet. Even though this booklet is not complete, it would be a great and INEXPENSIVE way to display the exterior appearance in a 1935 Silver Jubilee omnibus collection. The Scott 2025 value of the one complete individual pane, with normal watermark, is $18 though finding such a pane still with the covers and interleaves is remarkably unusual. ACTUAL item. |
