Scott #4 (B,E), 1841 2p blue Queen Victoria. Used F-VF, 3 margins with RARE Maltese cancellation with the numeral 4 in center. (A London office postmark. Numbers 1-12 exist; all are scarce to rare with values in SG 2012 ranging from 400 to 800 pounds on this stamp!) The cancellation is upright. The 4 in the center of the cross is perhaps not obvious at first, but playing with the colors in a digital image shows it up fairly well. The center would otherwise be a diamond shape, which this is certainly not. Gibbons 2012 value is 700 POUNDS = $1120! Priced very low due to the three margins and the esoteric nature -- a huge bargain! ACTUAL item. |
