Scott #51a, NK #68, Facit #68 [1896 10 øre Carmine, Knudsen Print, Perf 13.5 x 12.5] Mint F-VF+ (bottom two stamps NH) 4-block with perforation "error" Type 1 on the left side stamps (does not add to the cost). This block is from the Norman Gary collection; he marked the four cliche types as 2-3/4-1 (but the standard numbering for the types may have changed since he determined them). Wonderfully fresh and attractive -- nice multiples of this "workhorse" denomination are really quite scarce; these stamps were almost completely used up in normal postal use. Even NH stamps are scarce. The break-up value of this block is about $420 (and I do have clients seeking the single stamps) but I cannot bring myself to break up such a nice and scarce block.

56, Facit #82, NK #82 [1900 35 øre Posthorn, Knudsen Printing, Perf 14.5 x 13.5] NEVER HINGED lower right corner margin 4-block with all VF and XF stamps. Only a small hinge mark in the sheet margin. Stated by the previous owner (a Posthorn specialist) to be from the first printing. While not a very scarce stamp in NH condition, or even in NH/Mint multiples, examples this nice are quite unusual! Stunning appearance! Priced at only the break-up value of the four stamps! Very low price as a block!

56, Facit #82, NK #82 [1900 35 øre Posthorn, Knudsen Printing, Perf 14.5 x 13.5] Used 4-block with SUPERBLY CENTERED stamps and nice champhered-corners rectangular 1907 parcel cancel. Unusually white paper. The upper left stamp has a small spot on it. NK states that used blocks are scarce (the largest known to exist are 6 and 8), and prices used blocks at 50 (FIFTY) times the value of a single stamp -- and NK is conservative! I have not recorded having another example in 45 years. Without the spot, this very scarce block would certainly fetch at least $400 and perhaps more with this centering.

Scott #57a K-Print, Facit/NK #72 [1897 50 øre Posthorn, Knudsen Printing, Perforation 13.5 x 12.5] Used with VF centering and light circular town cancellation. Examples with circular cancellations are harder to find because most of the 50 øre stamps were used for parcel post and often received rectangular cancellations. A very attractive example.
