Scott #25 [1883 2 penni gray 4-Numerals, Perforation 12.5] Used with XF centering, but with a thin. Fresh and delicate color and with a neat, crisp, partial circular grid of squares carved / cork cancellation. Enough of the cancellation is present that it might be possible to identify the town at which this device was used. A handsome example.

Scott #25 Light Gray [1883 2 penni gray 4-Numerals, Perforation 12.5] Used with F-VF+ centering and light cancellation, but with a tiny thin speck (you may need to use a 10x magnifier to find it). This centering would otherwise be $17.00!

25 [1882 2 penni 4-Numeral, perf 12.5] original-issue stamp with boxed 23 x 8 mm black "SPECIMEN" overprint by metal handstamp (vertical, reading down from left). Mint with VF centering and full original gum, but ink stain on reverse. Wonderful appearance. Extremely scarce. It is believed that 500 were so overprinted in 1892 and sent to the Russian postal administration for onward distribution. They were likely largely distributed via the UPU to other UPU member countries and thus most are still in postal archives and museums; the few examples available to collectors have likely been "liberated" one way or another. Examples are seldom seen and are grossly undervalued in the market, largely due to never having been properly listed in the specialized catalogs.

27 [1882 10 penni brown 4-Numerals, Perf 12.5] NEVER HINGED 4-BLOCK with VF centering and perfect original gum. While single stamps of this quality are quite scarce; the surviving blocks are extremely scarce as they are too often broken up for the singles. The single stamps in this NH block, with this centering, would fetch $225 each. The Facit 2024 value for a NH block with normal centering is SEK 7000, but this centering is much nicer than normal. An outstanding example!

Scott #27 [1882 10 penni brown 4-Numerals, Perforation 12.5] Used with F-VF+ centering, but with a very faint, small thin spot (you may need a magnifying glass to see it). Especially interesting on this stamp -- which for some reason is quite unusual with a railway cancellation -- is that it has a "(FINSKA) POST KU(PEN) / No 10" 14 January 1884 RAILWAY cancellation. Though the cancellation is a partial strike, all the identification and dating details are complete. Not adding any value for the cancellation, an example of the ordinary stamp with this centering would be $22!

28 [1881 20 penni light ultramarine 4-Numeral (1882-1884 printing)] PLATE PROOF in LIGHT ULTRAMARINE with variable impression on ungummed, white paper, in imperforate right-margin horizontal pair. Never Hinged (never gummed), VF with large margins. Proof from original plate, NOT printed later from defaced, scrapped plate. Proofs of the 20 penni are not well documented. I cannot recall previously seeing this color shade. Wonderfully fresh. Proofs of this issue are quite scarce and are seldom offered.

Scott #30, Facit #19LC2c Pale Bluish Lilac [1882 1 mark 4-Numerals, Perforation 12.5] Used with Superb centering and a bold carved "cork" cancellation (circular area divided into squares and bars). The cancellation strike appears to be about 70% complete and has a very distinctive longer "corner bar" that spans two columns [at upper left in the image of the stamp]. The only even-close match that I can find for this carving is Laitinen #182 used at Nystad. That cancellation device is known used on stamps of the 1882-1889 stamp issues and over that long time (a long time for a carved cancel device) the device wore significantly. However, this cancellation strike is very sharp with quite large segments compared to the two illustrations in Laitinen, suggesting that this cancellation strike was done early in the life of the device. This particular stamp printing was distributed starting 7 January 1883, thus that fits with an early strike of that cancellation device. A stunning example! Such pretty examples of this printing are seldom offered; they are especially difficult to find with carved cancellations.
