Most of the bridge-type town cancellations of Iceland are listed in the Facit Catalog; the most recent listings in the 2006 edition are more complete than in previous editions. However, type B7 and B8b are still not listed by Facit. The primary reference handbook for bridge-type cancellations is Iceland Cancellations - Bridge, Roller, and Machine Cancellations 1894-2003 available from me.
Beyond the largest communities, most of the bridge-type cancellations are scarce to rare. Many collectors are actively building collections of these interesting cancellations.
The stamps are cataloged by Scott numbers. All items may be viewed on approval; regular approval groups of Icelandic town cancellations (including earlier periods) are also available.

Scott #134 [1922 20 aur surcharge on 40 aur King Christian IX] Used with Superb centering and a neat, partial "VI(K)" bridge-style cancellation. The centering and overall appearance of the stamp is absolutely exceptional, with "perfect" centering, "perfect" perforations, and excellent color. However, the cancellation adds significantly to the scarcity and desirability of this example. The VIK cancellation was used 1910-1969, which means that it is not very scarce in totality. However, the vast majority of that use was in later years. Furthermore, the mere fact that the cancellation device could exist for 59 years as the primary postmark of a post office, means that the post office handled a very small volume of mail -- and thus early uses are especially scarce. Separately, the 1921-1930 overprinted stamps are remarkably scarce with small village / farmstead / rural cancellations. The overprinting was done to use up obsolete stamps rather than to destroy them. However, based on my observations of the cancellations found on these overprinted stamps, the distribution of the overprinted stamps was mostly only to Reykjavik and the larger towns that had the majority of commercial activity. Stamps canceled at smaller places may been brought there by travelers. This a wonderful example of the stamp, and an excellent example of scarce use at a small place, in addition to being a nice use of this particular postmark.
