71 [1908 1 eyrir Two Kings, Crown Watermark] NEVER HINGED 4-BLOCK with Fine centering. Upper right stamp with an unlisted plate variety: "damaged lower frame line below EY of EYR" -- this is a slightly different variety than the one listed in the AFA Specialized Catalog. Very fresh and attractive.

AFA does list several similar types of varieties on other stamps of this set, but not this variety. It is quite easy to see; maybe it will receive a listing some day.

Numeral cancel 2 black Superb on Scott #76 VF but toned, with major plate variety (large break in left frame line) that is not listed by AFA. #2 in 1903-1911 period (Eyrarbakki) or #2 in 1913-1930 period and later possibly to 1964 (Svalbarðseyri). If the plate variety was AFA listed, would add about $35 to the price.

77 [1908 15 aur Two Kings] Fine centered, revenue use with straight-line sewing machine cancellation and partial (AKU)REYR(I) cancellation. This stamp is only one of six stamp issues (all Two Kings) that I have found (as of 12/2012) with the sewing machine cancellation; it is by far the scarcest that I have recorded. Though only Fine centered, this is still better than usual.

Scott #83, AFA #60t [1 kr Two Kings] Mint, very lightly hinged, with F-VF+ centering. With "colored line in top margin" variety as listed in the AFA Specialized 2016 Catalog (still the most recent edition as for 8/2025) at DKK 500. Very fresh and bright with nice centering. Seldom offered, especially in Mint condition.

Scott #84 [1907 2 kr Two Kings] NEVER HINGED, original gum, with Average centering. This example has fairly typical centering for this stamp, but it has an unusual production "variety". There is a spot of gum on the front of the stamp in the upper right area. After printing, these stamps were gummed by hand and laid out on shelves to dry. If a worker had a little bit of excess gum on their finger when picking up the next sheet of stamps to apply gum, such a spot of gum could get on the front of a stamp. While this type of "variety" is interesting and seldom seen, it does actually reduce the value -- even though the stamp really is NH. Scott 2025 value for NH is $105 and $37.50 for Hinged. Facit 2024 value for NH is SEK 950 and SEK 300 for Hinged. Very low price!

Scott #100 [1914 3 aur Two Kings, Crosses Watermark] Mint, very lightly hinged, with F-VF+ centering. Interesting variety with the center shifted dramatically to the upper left. While portrait shifts are not unusual on this stamp, this example is extreme. Very fresh and attractive.

102 [1914 5 aur Two Kings, Crosses Watermark] NEVER HINGED, Fine. An identifiable variety position, with large white area in the upper right corner. A very attractive example. Scarce NH. This really should be listed in the AFA Specialized catalog, and if it were, it would have a DKK 3000 catalog value as NH, 50% more than the regular NH value. The price for a normal NH Fine stamp would be $195 (and $275 for NH F-VF). A great NH stamp at a great price.

An identifiable variety position, AFA Specialized #79s, with several clear diagonal cuts in the frame lines. Otherwise would be $129 as a normal gummed example, and the AFA Specialized 2016 value for the gummed variety is DKK 1200!

103 [1918 6 aur Two Kings, Crosses Watermark] NH F-VF/F-VF+ upper left corner margin plate #93-H block of four. Unimportant tear in top selvage. This was the only plate number for the 6 aur with crosses watermark. A key early plate block; quite scarce, but especially so in such nice quality. Even NH single stamps of this one are hard to find.

103 [1918 6 aur Two Kings, Crosses Watermark, Perf 14 x 14.5] NH with Just-Fine centering. Unlisted (by AFA), but very obvious, plate variety: "very weak design inside top frame line". This really should be listed if it can be proved to be a constant variety. A normal NH Fine stamp would be $43 (and VF $84!).

Orlof 50 aur Overprint on Scott #104 (Facit #96) [10 aur Two Kings, crosses watermark] NH VF. This stamp had by far the lowest printing quantity according to Facit: 14,600, which is less than one-tenth of highest print quantity. As of 12/2014, in 41 years I have recorded having only seven mint (and no used) singles plus a plate block of four; however they seem often to be creased. Wonderful quality; very scarce!

This stamp is only one of six stamp issues (all Two Kings) that I have found (as of 12/2012) with the sewing machine cancellation. Dated examples are very scarce. One of the best centered examples I have seen.
