130 [1922 5 aur surcharge on 16 aur Christian IX] NH VF/Superb lower left corner margin 12-block (sheet position 71-74/81-84/91-94) containing the only medallion plate flaw on this stamp, listed by Regeling (who wrote the handbook on Christian IX and Two Kings stamps): "Position 73 several dents in right side of medallion frame from mouth down to chin". (This is variety is known ONLY in position 73 -- not also 23 -- in the 3 aur to 50 aur regular postage issues.) Also contains one of the two frame plate varieties recorded by Regeling: Position 84 "white spot in upper right part of R of RD" -- this is also found in position 34 as would be expected for a 50-subject plate. Wonderfully fresh and contains many Superb, perfectly centered stamps. Priced at a little less than the break up value of the single stamps!

130 [1922 "5 aur." surcharge on 16 aur Christian IX] Used F-VF centered, with substantially complete (for the size of the postmark) REYÐAR(FJÖRÐUR) bridge cancellation, type B2c1 (Facit 2022 #40). Though year date not showing, very nice strike for this type of item -- and VERY UNUSUAL on one of the provisional surcharges. An ordinary example of this stamp with this centering would be $24, but "99%" of those are the usual Reykjavik or other larger-town cancellations. While the catalog value of the postmark is not high, it is surprisingly seldom seen.

132 [1921 "20 aur" Surcharge on 25 aur Christian IX] NH VF 8-block containing sheet positions 21-24 / 31-34. The handbook on this issue (Regeling) lists only four frame flaws on the underlying 25 aur stamp -- this block contains two of them! One of the varieties is "white spot in "h" of "Chr" in position 31 (and 81) and another is colored line to right of "N" of "ISLAND" in position 24 (and 74). This issue was printed by two impressions of a 50-subject plate, thus each variety usually appears twice in the sheet (though on this stamp, the other two recorded varieties each exist only in one position, 15 and 48). Medallion varieties of this stamp are only recorded in positions 7 and 73. The sheet positions of this block are also confirmed because it was taken out of a larger marginal block. Very bright and attractive; extremely fresh. Even ordinary nice NH singles are difficult to find. The break-up value as normal NH VF stamps is $272!

A wonderful example with almost perfect centering and an outstanding example of the rough perforation variety. Additionally, this stamp has an unlisted plate variety in the overprint: The "0" has a large dent on the outside of the lower right.

139, AFA #106x [1921 "10 aur." surcharge on 5 aur green King Christian X] Mint, very lightly hinged, with VF centering. AFA Specialized 2016 (most recent edition) lists this plate variety on the underlying stamp as #86x, but they forgot to list the plate variety with the overprint (I have notified the editors). The variety is from plate position 9, and also exists on some other stamps in the issue, consists of broken green background lines on either side of the portrait, roughly in line with the mouth, resulting in white areas. This variety is rarely offered and is quite difficult to find with nice centering.

Inverted watermark on this stamp is quite scarce -- the 2024 Facit Mint Hinged value is SEK 1300, almost double the normal watermark. However, I do not have a record of ever having, either Mint or Used, inverted watermark of this stamp.
