O23 Full Sheet, Overprint Setting II, AFA 1997 Specialized #TJ13B with all four of the AFA-listed plate varieties (on underlying AFA #TJ5B) [1902 "I GILDI" black overprint on 10 aur Official, perforation 12.75] NH with centering varying from Superb to Fine as usual. The underlying stamps were printed in four quarters with a 25-subject plate, thus this sheet shows four sets of the 25 cliché types/varieties. The four varieties are (per AFA): "ø" Sheet Position 25, 30, 75, 80 "String of pearls below ISLAND"; "x" Sheet Position 35, 40, 85, 90 "Cuts in left frame line"; "y" Sheet Position 41, 46, 91, 96 "Lower frame line dented below 10 and near left corner"; and "z" Sheet Position 42, 47, 92, 97 "Lower left corner cut off". Very fresh and attractive; mostly strong perforations, with only one area of separation / folding on the right side above the middle (typical of these sheets). Priced well below the break up value of the listed varieties and stamps.

O24 Full Sheet, Overprint Setting II, AFA 1997 Specialized #TJ15B with all four of the AFA-listed plate varieties (on underlying AFA #TJ7/7B) [1902 "I GILDI" black overprint on 20 aur Official, perforation 12.75] NH with centering varying from Superb to Average as usual. The underlying stamps were printed in four quarters with a 25-subject plate, thus this sheet shows four sets of the 25 cliché types/varieties. Note that the underlying perforation 12.75 stamp was never regularly issued without overprint (such stamps are major rarities), thus the overprinted stamp is the only practical way to obtain examples of the plate varieties. The clichés changed somewhat between the perforation 14x13.5 printings and the perforation 12.75 printing; AFA does not show the varieties for the perforation 12.75 printing. The four varieties are (per AFA for the perforation 14 x 13.5 issue): "æ" Sheet Position 14, 19, 64, 69 "Split upper frame line toward left"; "x" Sheet Position 24, 29, 74, 79 "Lower frame line broken below AU"; "z" Sheet Position 35, 40, 85, 90 "String of pearls below ISLAND"; and "ø" Sheet Position 43, 48, 93, 98 "Cuts in upper frame line". Very fresh and attractive; with strong perforations, with only a tiny bit of separation. Side margins reduced somewhat. Priced well below the break up value of the listed varieties and stamps.

O24 varieties: AFA 1997 Specialized #TJ15B with all four of the AFA-listed plate varieties (that exist on the underlying AFA #TJ7/7B) [1902 "I GILDI" black overprint on 20 aur Official, perforation 12.75] NH F-VF upper left 25-block (quarter sheet). The underlying stamps were printed in four quarters with a 25-subject plate, thus this block shows each of the 25 cliché types/varieties. Scott #O26, AFA 1997 Specialized #TJ12ø Printing 4 [1902 "I GILDI" black overprint on 5 aur Official, Perforation 14 x 13.5, July 1892 printing (brown) of underlying stamp] Used with F-VF++ centering and neat, light cancellation. The underlying stamp shows the plate variety listed by the 2016 AFA Specialized Catalog (still the most recent edition as of 12/2025) for AFA #TJ4ø, with a dent in the left frame line near the top. However, 1) the AFA catalog text slightly misplaces the variety (the picture shows the correct location), stating it is above the final U, when it is actually even slightly higher up the stamp design; and 2) the catalog does not mention that this variety also has a break in the thin frame line above the 5 (even larger than the variety #4x) and that said thin frame line has several thick areas on the underside of it. Because the stamp plate consisted of 50 subjects, each variety exists twice in the printed sheet; this plate variety appears in sheet positions 44 and 49 (which strongly suggests that the 50 stamp plate was organized as 5 columns of 10 rows). The AFA 2016 premium for the variety on the underlying Used stamp is about 100%. Ordinary Used examples of this overprinted stamp are quite scarce; an example of this quality without the plate variety would sell for $175! Because of the high value of the "ordinary" Used stamp, the plate varieties are rarely offered.

O27 [10 aur Perf 14 x 13.5 Official with "I GILDI" overprint] NEVER HINGED, original gum, with Fine centering. AIEP member and preeminent I Gildi expert Ellis Glatt viewed a high resolution image of the stamp in January 2024 and commented that the overprint is genuine in his opinion. This stamp is accompanied by a Jay Smith color image certificate with a "lifetime guarantee" from Jay Smith (details of the guarantee are available upon request). This is a wonderfully fresh example of a stamp that is missing from virtually all collection. The scarcity of NH examples is clearly demonstrated by the Facit 2024 NH value of SEK 9000!

O27b INVERTED OVERPRINT [10 aur perforation 14 x 13.5, INVERTED "I GILDI" overprint, Official] Mint, original gum, lightly hinged, with Fine centering. Wonderful color and very fresh. Accompanied by 1985 Lasse Nielsen color photo certificate (despite the age of the certificate this one is still perfectly reliable). This unassuming stamp is extremely difficult to find in nice quality, even with a normal overprint, and is missing from virtually all collections.

O30a, Facit #TJ20v1 MISSING I in front of GILDI [1902 "I GILDI" black overprint on 50 aur Official, perforation 14 x 13.5] Used F-VF+ re-attached pair with normal stamp on right and Missing I variety on left. The two stamps clearly belong together (connected by the postmark) but due to the very fragile perforations of this issue, they had come apart and have been sensibly and carefully reattached. The variety stamp (on left) has extremely slight blunting of the left-side perforations (almost requires a 10x magnifier to see). Very neatly canceled, well away from the overprint variety. This variety is seldom offered and only rarely offered in Used condition. This is the most attractive Used example I have had in 42 years.
