Scott #C2 [1929 50 aur Airmail Overprint on Two Kings] NEVER HINGED BLOCK OF FOUR. The top two stamps have Fine centering but the lower two stamps have VF or better centering. Very fresh and bright with great color and excellent NH original gum. This is a key stamp that is quite hard to find both NH and well centered (centering is often only Fine at best). The total Facit 2024 value for the four NH singles is SEK 7200 = approx US$720 [8/25], but the two VF centered stamps are much scarcer than that! With their respective centering, the total break-up value for the four stamps is $760 because of the two VF stamps. Hoping to keep this scarce block intact, it is priced FAR BELOW break-up value! Scott #C3 [1930 10 aur triangle Althing / Parliament Millennium Falcon Airmail] STRIP OF THREE, Mint Hinged with VF centering. Very fresh and bright with great centering, "perfect" perforations, and wonderful overall appearance. Just counted as five VF Hinged stamps, the total selling price would be $76.50. While multiples of this stamp were easier to find 40 or more years ago, such multiples have since mostly been broken up and are now harder to find. This is a beautiful example of a "classic" Icelandic stamp design at below the break-up value of the strip! ACTUAL item. |

C3 [1930 10 aur Triangle Airmail] Used VF+ left marginal 8-block with AKUREYRI cancellations (any non-Reykjavik cancel is quite scarce on this stamp). Spectacular appearance and extremely scarce in multiples. Facit 2007 value as singles is SEK 4800 = $670! However, the block is really much, much scarcer than the value of 8 singles! ACTUAL item. |

Scott #C9 [1931 30 aur "Zeppelin 1931" Overprint] NEVER HINGED BLOCK OF FOUR with VF-XF centering. Wonderfully fresh with great color, "perfect" perforations, and "perfect" never hinged original gum! This stamp is hard to find in NH condition -- NH blocks are now especially scarce as more and more have been broken up in the last few decades for NH singles. Facit 2024 value is SEK 900 for a NH single. NH VF single stamps readily sell for $86. This block, containing at least one XF centered stamp, is priced below the breakup value as four NH VF singles, without anything added for the XF stamp. ACTUAL item. |

Scott #C10, Facit #163v PLATE VARIETY [1931 1 kr "Zeppelin 1931" Overprint] NEVER HINGED BLOCK OF FOUR with F-VF centering. The left TWO stamps show the catalog-listed Plate Variety "white bulge on the right side of the numeral 1". All the stamps in the 7th vertical column of the sheet show this variety, yet it can be quite difficult to find nice examples. Blocks or strips showing this variety are especially scarce. Note: The same frame plate was used for printing the Second Portrait Design of the 1 kr stamp (Scott #185), but before that printing started, each position in the 7th column was retouched to remove the white spot; the retouched positions are each different and identifiable. Wonderfully fresh with great color, bright white paper, excellent perforations, and "perfect" never hinged original gum! This stamp (and especially the variety) has become hard to find in NH condition -- NH blocks are now especially scarce as more and more have been broken up in the last few decades for NH singles. Normal NH F-VF single stamps sell for $19.75 each, but only the right two stamps in this block are normal. In 53 years, and especially since I started seriously recording such items around 2000, I have not recorded having a block or strip (of four or more) containing this variety. ACTUAL item. |

Scott #C10 [1931 1 kr "Zeppelin 1931" Overprint] NEVER HINGED Lower Right PLATE BLOCK OF FOUR "No 402Y" with Fine centering. The stamps and selvage are NH, but the gum is slightly aged (yellowed) as is often seen on this particular stamp. There is perforation separation in one place in the selvage (next to the "4"), but otherwise the perforations are strong. At the bottom center of the lower right stamp, there is a small spot of (original) gum. Such gum spots on the front are occasionally found on the Christian X stamps. They are the result of handling during production while the gum was still wet. When they are encountered, they are almost always found on stamps that are margin-adjacent and especially at the lower right sheet-corner (where a printer may have picked up a sheet for close inspection). Technically, such a spot does reduce the value, but plate blocks of this issue are so scarce that most collectors regard such a spot to be inconsequential. Though only Fine centered (typical for this issue), this block has fresh appearance with great color and excellent perforations. This stamp has become hard to find in NH condition -- NH blocks are now especially scarce (and plate blocks have always been very scarce) as more and more have been broken up in the last few decades for NH singles. In 53 years, and especially since I started seriously recording such items around 2000, I have not recorded having a plate block of this stamp. ACTUAL item. |
