Particularly attractive and scarce stamps that will make a wonderful addition to your collection. Most of these issues are not often offered! Unless otherwise stated, Scott Catalog numbers have been used. Mint stamps will have full original gum unless otherwise mentioned. All items are available for viewing on approval.
17b (Gray Blue) VERTICAL WATERMARK, Facit #17avm [1872 2 skilling gray blue Posthorn] Used F-VF with light, but correct, single-ring cancel with 1873 date, and with red crayon marking, typically from use on a foreign letter which would have received various rate and routing markings. This red marking is not a defect, but it does lower the price from about $490! The gray blue stamp with normal horizontal watermark is already very scarce (Facit SEK 2000) with a cancellation showing use in the proper period. Examples of this vertical watermark variety are extremely scarce with a proper cancel (Facit SEK 3800)! Note that some albums have separate spaces for these vertical vs horizontal watermarks. An excellent example of a seldom-offered stamp.

19a, Facit #19aa, NK #19Ia Dark Violet on Thin Grayish/Bluish Paper. [1872 4 skilling Posthorn] Used F-VF+ with 1873 (proper period) cancellation. Remarkably intense color. Facit 2013 value SEK 1500 = US$225 [10/2012] for normal quality. This example has much nicer, centering, color, and appearance than is usually seen for this color.

(19 variety), Facit #19ab, NK #19Ic [1872 4 sk Posthorn, Dull Violet on Thin Grayish-White Paper (1872)] Used with F-VF+ centering. Only small part of cancellation present, leaving the stamp face-free; on this printing an undated cancellation is not a problem -- supplies of this printing (color and paper) were exhausted long before 1877 when the currency changed (and Mint examples are four times the value of Used, unlike the 1875 printing). The centering of this color is very often only Average or Fine -- this example is much nicer than usual. A very attractive example with much nicer overall appearance than usual for this printing. Quite exceptional. The scarcest printing (color and paper) of all the possibilities.

21 [1873 7 skilling Posthorn] Used with VF+ centering with neat, very light, proper period single-ring cancellation. An unusually attractive example with exceptionally strong color. Even though the single-ring cancellations are considered to be used in the proper time period, this example is offered at a lower price because a date is not visible -- but it is proper period use. Otherwise this would be $95! Such attractive, well-centered examples are hard to find!

21 [1873 7 skilling Posthorn] Used with VF+ centering with neat, later period cancellation (either 1889 or 1899, but was still valid for postage through March 31, 1908). This centering is unusually nice! With an earlier cancellation this would be $85!

21 [1873 7 skilling Posthorn] Used with F-VF centering and with well-centered, nearly full, "(NORD)BANERNES POSTEXP II" later-period RAILWAY cancellation (but still valid for postage). Beautiful example. Railway postmarks are seldom seen on the later-used skilling stamps. Very pretty.
