This color is very scarce, undervalued in all the catalogs. Furthermore, though the catalogs give a 1.5 to 2 times multiple for the Type 9 (without period after FRIM) stamps, they are in much, much greater demand than that multiple suggests. Lower right corner perf rounded, but easily compensated for by an obvious plate variety "lower right frame line corner open". Very scarce stamp in several respects. |

Scott #25, Facit #26 III, NK #25 II (1878 10 øre Shaded Posthorn, Re-engraved, Horizontal Watermark) Used with Superb centering and remarkable, nearly perfectly centered SVELVIG 9 February 1880 single-ring town cancellation. Though four cancellation types are listed by NK Postal for this town, this cancellation type from SVELVIG seems not to be listed / illustrated by NK Postal; this example has large-lettered serifed town name, sans-serif day and month, but serifed year (the day and month are very obviously from a different numbers type kit). Potentially a scarce cancellation. The stamp has only slight re-engraving below the crown. A wonderful example of a stamp that many people collect with as many different town postmarks as they can find. |

A beautiful, but inexpensive example of this key stamp. |

28 [1877 25 øre lilac Shaded Posthorn] Used with XF-Superb centering and enormous margins. Typical delicate lilac color for this stamp, but with a thin spot. Nearly perfect perforations for this usually poorly perforated stamp and with a neat, nearly complete, 22 November 1878 STAVA(NGE)R single-ring town cancellation. Such nice looking examples are quite hard to find -- this stamp is "very scarce" with such large and balanced margins. This centering and appearance would otherwise be $175. A beautiful, but inexpensive example of this key stamp. |
