Scott #O1, Facit #TJ1b Yellow Brown on White Paper [1874 3 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, moderately hinged, with F-VF+ centering. A very nice example with excellent centering for this issue, fresh color, perfect perforations, perfect (for this era) gum modestly hinged, and extraordinary freshness. This stamp has an interesting plate variety (there are no priced catalog listings of most of the plate varieties on the Official stamps): "Large break in top frame line above V" -- this does not increase the price. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection. Even though this stamp has a modest catalog value compared to the others in the Perf 14 set, Mint examples as nice as this are amazingly hard to find!

Scott #O2, Facit #TJ2a Grayish Black on White Paper [1877 4 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, reasonable hinge remnant, with Fine+ centering. A nice example with reasonable centering for this issue, fresh color, perfect perforations, and fresh appearance. This stamp has two interesting plate varieties (there are no priced catalog listings of most of the plate varieties on the Official stamps): 1) "Large disturbance in the upper left background area" and 2) "White dot to left of left 4" -- these do not increase the price. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection. Mint, undamaged, examples of this stamp are remarkably hard to find; very few have survived in nice condition. (Facit 2024 value SEK 3,000. Scott 2025 value US$300.)

Scott #O3, Facit #TJ3b Light Blue Green [1874 5 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, NO GUM, with XF centering. A beautiful example with extraordinary centering for this issue, delicate color, perfect perforations, and fresh appearance, despite being without gum. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection. Mint, undamaged, well-centered examples of this stamp are remarkably hard to find; very few have survived in nice condition. While this example does not have gum, I believe that it is the most attractive unused example that I have had in 52 years. (Facit 2024 value SEK 1,100 with gum. Scott 2025 value US$140, with gum. However, unused examples this well centered are rarely seen!)

O3, Facit TJ3a [1874 5 öre green Official, Perf 14] Used with Superb centering and huge margins. This (first) printing has a strong blue-green color and is on s slightly bluish/grayish paper. A couple perfs tips slightly shorter, but hardly worth mentioning. Neat, full STOCKHOLM cancellation. A terrific example of a scarce stamp; this color is much scarcer than the catalog values suggest, especially in such nice quality! Facit 2020 SEK 700 for normal quality. A wonderful example.

Scott #O4, Facit #TJ4f Lilac on Yellowish Paper [1874 (1879) 6 öre LILAC Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, with F-VF centering, but with a very tiny age spot in the upper right corner, a tiny thin speck in the margin, and small hinge remnants. Despite the minor problems, this is a remarkably beautiful example with excellent centering for this issue, delicate color, perfect perforations, and fresh overall appearance. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection. Mint, undamaged, well-centered examples of this stamp are remarkably hard to find (thins are very common on these Perf 14 stamps); very few have survived in perfect condition. While this example is not perfect, I believe that it is the most attractive unused example of this Lilac printing that I have had in 52 years. (Facit 2024 value SEK 2,200. Scott 2025 value US$275.)

Scott #O5, Facit #TJ4b Light (Silver) Gray [1874 6 öre GRAY Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, very moderately hinged, with F-VF centering. A very nice example with nice centering for this issue, fresh delicate color, perfect perforations, perfect (for this era) gum modestly hinged, and extraordinary freshness. Accompanied by a 1982 Lasse Nielsen certificate stating (translated from Danish): "Unused with original gum, hinged... Genuine without repairs... Quality according to SFF norms is Medium Good [which is quite good]." Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection; he acquired it in 1989 from a major Swedish dealer. In 52 years, I can only recall being able to offer one other Mint Hinged of this "very scarce" (in Mint condition, or in Used condition!) stamp -- this example is by far the best! (Facit 2024 value SEK 4,500 for normal quality, which is about US$450 -- but such nice examples of this stamp are very seldom seen! Scott 2025 value US$525.)

Scott #O6 Bright Blue on Yellowish Paper [1874 12 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, hinge remnant, with XF centering. An extremely nice example with almost-perfect centering, brilliant color, perfect perforations, and excellent (for this era) gum with hinge remnant, and extraordinary freshness. The designations of printings/colors for this 12 öre stamp have changed over the years. This particular color shade is not currently listed by Facit, nor is such a bright and greenish shade illustrated for this stamp in the ca.1980 Nordisk Filateli classic Swedish stamp color guide. A striking example with both unusual quality and color. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection. In 52 years, I can only recall being able to offer four or five other Mint Hinged singles of this stamp (in any color shade), with this example by far the best! I believe that this is the only unused example of this color that I have been able to offer in 52 years. (Facit 2024 value SEK 1,700-2,000 for the listed colors.)

Scott #O7, Facit #TJ6b Orange Red [1874 20 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, expertly REGUMMED, with XF centering. Despite the regumming -- which looks "never hinged", this is a remarkably beautiful example with wonderful centering for this issue, brilliant color, almost perfect perforations, and fresh overall appearance. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection; he acquired this stamp (correctly described as regummed) from me in 1987. Mint, undamaged, well-centered examples of this stamp are remarkably hard to find (lack of gum is very common on these Perf 14 stamps and especially on this denomination which is very scarce in unused condition); very few have survived in perfect condition. I believe that I have only had one original-gum example of this stamp in 52 years! While this example is not perfect, I believe that it is the most attractive unused example of this stamp that I have had in 52 years -- this is the second time I have had this example. (Facit 2024 value SEK 9,000. Scott 2025 value US$1,050. However, undamaged, original gum examples are much scarcer than those values suggest.)

Scott #O8, Facit #TJ7d1 Yellow [1874 24 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, modestly hinged, with F-VF+ centering. This is an outstanding example with excellent centering for this issue, bright and true color, perfect perforations, excellent gum (for this era), and fresh overall appearance. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection; he acquired this stamp in 1989 from a well-known Swedish dealer. This YELLOW example is the true yellow (not orange-yellow and not lemon-yellow). Mint, undamaged, well-centered examples of this stamp are remarkably hard to find. (Lack of gum or thins are very common on these Perf 14 stamps and especially on this denomination, in the YELLOW COLOR, which is remarkably scarce in unused condition.) Very few have survived in perfect condition. I believe that I have only had only two or three undamaged, original-gum examples of this stamp in 52 years and that this example is the most attractive of them. (Facit 2024 value SEK 13,000. The Scott 2025 value US$1,050, however, Scott incorrectly assigns the yellow and the orange #O8a with the same value.)

Scott #O9, Facit #TJ8d Dark Brown [1874 (1878 printing) 30 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, extremely lightly hinged, with VF-XF centering. An extremely nice example with wonderful centering, excellent dark color, perfect perforations, perfect (for this era) gum with extremely light hinge mark, and extraordinary freshness. Accompanied by a 1991 Helena Obermüller Wilén [retired now] "HOW" color certificate stating (translated from Swedish): "Unused with original gum... Good centering [which means VF or better in American terms]... The stamp is genuine... No faults... No repairs. A very beautiful and fresh example. Praktexemplar [meaning splendid or magnificent example]." HOW assigned the Swedish quality rating of 4,4,4 [in every respect superb quality, good centering (one step down from Superb), first hinge mark]. HOW was (and still is) the premier certificate to have for this stamp. Though the certificate is from 1991, it is still considered to be as good or better than any certificate that could be made today. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection; he acquired it in 1991 from the highly respected Swedish dealer Olof Linder. In 52 years, I can only recall being able to offer a couple Mint Hinged singles of this "very scarce" (in Mint condition) stamp -- this example is by far the best! (Facit 2024 value SEK 5,500 for "praktexemplar" quality, which is about US$550. Scott 2025 value US$525 for normal centering.)

Scott #O10, Facit #TJ9a Violetish Carmine on Faintly Grayish Paper [1874 50 öre Large Official, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, extremely lightly hinged, with VF-XF centering. This is an exceptional example with extremely nice centering for this issue, strong and true color, perfect perforations, perfect gum (for this era), and wonderfully fresh overall appearance. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection; he acquired this stamp in 1988 from the well-respected Swedish dealer Olof Linder. (Lack of gum or thins are very common on these Perf 14 stamps and especially on this high denomination, which is remarkably scarce in unused condition.) Very few have survived in such perfect condition as this example. I believe that I have only had only one other undamaged, original-gum example of this stamp in 52 years, but this example is by far the most attractive. (The Facit 2024 value is SEK 5,500. The Scott 2025 value is US$600. However, Mint, original gum, undamaged examples of this stamp are much scarcer than those values suggest.)

An extremely nice example with excellent centering for this issue, excellent color, perfect perforations, perfect (for this era) gum with hinge mark, and extraordinary freshness. In 52 years, I can only recall being able to offer two other Mint Hinged singles of this "extremely scarce" (in Mint condition) stamp -- this example is by far the best!
