Scott #O19 Light Dull Red on Yellowish Paper, Facit #TJ18g [1881 (1889 Printing) 20 öre red-shades Official, Perforation 13] Mint, Original Gum, Lightly Hinged, with F-VF centering. Wonderfully fresh with great color and paper (this is the color as issued, not aged), "perfect" perforations, nice centering for this stamp, and excellent correct original gum, and NO defects of any kind. Of the several colors / papers of this stamp, this is one of the least costly versions perhaps because it was the last issued. In Mint condition, this is the scarcest "main number" (in any of its colors / papers) of all the Perforation 13 Official stamps. It is very seldom offered without defects in nice Mint condition. One explanation for this is that 20 öre red-shades stamps (Scott #O19) were consumed in normal postal use and then, in 1891, it was replaced by a blue version of the 20 öre. Even in "almost complete" specialized collections of the Official stamps, Mint examples of this stamp are often not present or have defects. In my opinion, this stamp is grossly undervalued in the catalogs. This is the nicest Mint example of this stamp (in any color/paper) that I have had in many years!

Scott #O23 Type I, Pale Rose, Facit #TJ22Ac [1881 (1884 Printing) 50 öre carmine to rose colors Official, Perforation 13, Type I (without a break in the curved frameline above S of SVERIGE)] Mint, Original Gum, Hinge Remnant (looks nice), with VF centering. Wonderfully fresh with very unusual delicate color, "perfect" perforations, excellent centering for this stamp, and excellent correct original gum with an unobtrusive hinge remnant. NO defects of any kind. Of the several colors / papers of this stamp, this is one of the scarcer versions -- and it is the ONLY version with such a light, rose color. Most of the other colors / printings are much darker, all the way to carmine! In Mint condition, this is one of the scarcer "main numbers" (in any of its colors / papers) of all the Perforation 13 Official stamps. This color is listed by the Facit Classic 2024 at SEK 2500 (approx US$250 9/2026), compared to SEK 1400 for the more common colors (though none of the colors are "common"). There is an error in the Scott Catalogue 2026: Scott #O23 only has a listing for the basic stamp, but has it listed as "pale rose" (which this example is), but the vast majority of Scott #O23 are the darker, carmine versions. (I have submitted a report to Scott 9/2026.) This pale rose color is "very seldom" offered Mint condition; furthermore, it is "rarely" offered in Mint condition without any defects! Even in "almost complete" specialized collections of the Official stamps, Mint examples of this stamp -- and especially this scarce color -- are often not present or have defects. In my opinion, this stamp is grossly undervalued in the catalogs. This is, by far, the nicest Mint example of this 50 öre Type I stamp (in any color/paper) that I have been able to offer in many years!
