Denmark: Cancellations: By Stamp - 1913-1932 Christian X
Scott numbers have been used unless otherwise indicated. Cancellations starting with the letter "Å", "Æ" and "Ø" are at the end of the alphabet. These listings are just a random tiny fraction of the thousands of Danish cancellations that I have in stock. If you are seeking specific numbers, towns, or types of cancellations, or cancels on specific stamps, please send your want list. All these items and much more are available for viewing on approval; please request approvals.
108 [1922 25 øre red Christian X] Used with Superb centering and VF SVENDBORG 17 December 1924 single-ring town cancellation. Even though this is not a scarce stamp, such nicely canceled examples are seldom seen, especially on such a well-centered stamp. An exceptional example!

Scott #122a, Facit #155a, AFA #129 [1921 50 øre DARK GRAY Christian X] Used with XF centering and an XF "ODENS(E) / *1*" single-ring cancellation. Such nicely canceled examples of this stamp are remarkably scarce. Examples of this number offered in the marketplace are often the actually lighter-colored printings. A handsome example of the CORRECT color of this stamp in outstanding quality.

Scott #125 [1920 70 øre Christian X] Used with Superb centering. Neat 1921 small-town FAAREHUS (which before today I had never heard of) bridge cancellation. A beautiful example with "perfect" centering, "perfect" perforations, wonderful color and an excellent cancellation. While this stamp is not "scarce", examples this nice are "rarely" offered.

Scott #126 [1915 80 øre greenish blue Christian X] Used with F-VF centering and a SUPERB "KJØBENHAVN / ..." 6 November 1920 single-ring cancellation. A couple perforations at bottom are slightly blunted, but one has to look very hard to see that. Such nicely canceled examples of this stamp are remarkably scarce. This cancellation has a feature which I do not recall previously having in stock. The TIME indicator in the dateline is in FRACTIONS: "1 1/2 - 6 1/4". I am not suggesting that the fractional time feature makes this cancellation rare, but in broader perspective of Danish cancellations, it is a "rare" type of cancellation feature. This stamp is one of the most difficult to obtain in the Christian X set.

Scott #127 [1920 90 øre Christian X] Horizontal BLOCK OF EIGHT, CLEAN SMALL-HOLE PERFORATION VARIETY, Used with Fine centering. Bears beautifully struck 21 April 1923 AAKIRKEBY small-town bridge-style cancellations. This town is located on the ISLAND OF BORNHOLM and is still a small town, with a current population of only about 2100. Bornholm cancellations and postal history are very actively collected; there is even a Bornholm cancellation catalogwhich available from me. While Used singles of this stamp are "common", Used multiples of this stamp are "remarkably unusual" and Used blocks of this stamp larger than four stamps are "very scarce". Furthermore, Used blocks of this stamp canceled outside of København are especially scarce -- and canceled on Bornholm they could probably be considered "rare".

182, Facit #171, AFA #158 [1926 7 on 27 øre surcharged Christian X] Used with VF centering and VF "SKIVE" 1927 single-ring town cancellation. This stamp is much scarcer Used than Mint and examples with a well-centered, dated-in-period town cancellation are hard to find. VF stamp centering is also hard to find. A stamp with this centering and a ordinary cancellation would be $16.75. This is an unusually nice example with great centering, strong color, and excellent perforations!
