This stamp is much scarcer Used than Mint and examples with a well-centered, dated-in-period town cancellation are hard to find. VF stamp centering is also hard to find. A stamp with this centering and a ordinary cancellation would be $16.75. This is an unusually nice example with great centering, strong color, and excellent perforations! ACTUAL item. |

Scott #J8 [1921 Postage Due "PORTO" overprint on 10 øre Christian X with "SF" military overprint] Used BLOCK OF FOUR with F-VF centering. Central (plus part of another) Superbly centered 9 March 1925 SVEBØLLE single-ring cancellation. Very attractive -- an outstanding example of a scarce block. The AFA 2017 4-Block Catalog (apparently the most recent edition) value is DKK 700 (about US$115 3/2026). Priced just over the $64 break-up value as four Used F-VF single stamps! I believe that this is only the third example of a Used 4-block of this stamp that I have been able to offer in 52 years. ACTUAL item. |

Scott #44a [1898 8 øre Bicolor Perf 12.75; Small Watermark, Inverted Frame] Used with VF centering and VF "VALLØ / 2 P(OST)" cancellation. (This specific cancellation style never included a year date.) Very fresh, with brilliant color and perfect perforations. As of 3/2025, I do not recall ever before having an example of a VALLØ cancellation -- it is a very small town that in 2007 was merged into a surrounding municipality. This cancellation style is actively collected -- nicely struck examples are challenging to find. ACTUAL item. |
