Fresh and delicate color and with a neat, crisp, partial circular grid of squares carved / cork cancellation. Enough of the cancellation is present that it might be possible to identify the town at which this device was used. A handsome example. ACTUAL item. |

33 [1885 20 penni 4-Numeral, Orange, Perf 12.5] (F-VF) tied on very neat 22 May 1886 cover by carved "cork" grid cancellation and JOENSUU 2-ring dated side town cancellation. Joensuu had several similar style postmarks. Customary "ANK 25/5" (receiving) postmark. All such carved postmarks are at least scarce, and often rare, on cover -- especially examples this nice! ACTUAL item. |
