Scott #19 Dark Green on Thick Paper, Facit #14Sdz [1875 8 penni 4-Numeral, Perf 11] Used with F-VF++ centering and neat, crisp carved / cork "circle of lines" cancellation. The color difference is subtle, but this is the Dark Green, rather than the more common Dark Bluish Green. The paper is called thick by the catalogers; that description is perhaps more relative than absolute, but it is quite a bit thicker than the normally thin paper of this issue. An outstanding example with great color, excellent perforations for this issue, an interesting cancellation, and wonderful overall appearance. ACTUAL item. |

33 [1885 20 penni 4-Numeral, Orange, Perf 12.5] (F-VF) tied on very neat 22 May 1886 cover by carved "cork" grid cancellation and JOENSUU 2-ring dated side town cancellation. Joensuu had several similar style postmarks. Customary "ANK 25/5" (receiving) postmark. All such carved postmarks are at least scarce, and often rare, on cover -- especially examples this nice! ACTUAL item. |
