1.  New Items on the Website Shopping Cart: Review or Check Out   Top

There is an interesting range of new items on the website:

Iceland Stamp Price Lists have been added -- see below.

U.S. Stamps: A range of interesting mint and used 1863-1930s issues including some desirable items.

Canada Stamps: A very useful group of mint and used 1859-1929 stamps with many in very nice quality.

2.  ICELAND STAMP PRICE LISTS Now on Website Shopping Cart: Review or Check Out   Top

ICELAND STAMP PRICE LISTS have been put on the website. This list is probably the most comprehensive such listing on the web, with up to three levels of condition (never hinged, mint hinged, and used) and up to five levels of quality for each item. There are over 3600 priced listings and more are being added almost every day. 99.5% of the stamps have illustrations.

A downloadable, printable version (without illustrations) will be available in a couple weeks and will be announced in an E-News. However, because many items are in very short supply, I suggest you don't wait; place your order today.

A full Table of Contents helps to get you to a starting point in the lists. Unfortunately, to keep the page size and browser loading time reasonable, the list is divided into 72 web pages.

Scott numbers have been given for these listings. If you would prefer to examine the stamps before purchasing, or you are any seeking stamps (or any condition or any quality) not listed here, please send your want list using your choice of Scott or Facit numbers. (My stock is organized in Scott order, thus Scott numbers are preferred, but I can work with Facit numbers if that is easier for you.)

Unless there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the images shown in the "regular stamp" price lists are standard images of the issues from my image library; they are presented to show the designs of the stamp issues and not to show the specific individual stamps being offered. The centering of the stamps in the images is usually Superb or VF quality; again these are not images of the individual stamps being offered unless you see a 6-digit number in the left-most column. Most early stamps had multiple printings, thus color shades vary greatly; the colors in the images are random printings/colors. If there is a 6-digit item number in the left-most column, the image is of the actual item being offered.

All the listed conditions and qualities were in stock at the moment this list was prepared and I endeavor to maintain them in stock and to keep this website updated. However, my stock changes daily and (to paraphrase) good stamps are hard to find. If you are willing to accept a different grade or quality if an item is temporarily out of stock, please let me know when ordering (add a comment at the conclusion of the shopping cart process) and please also let me know of any alternates you will consider. Furthermore, new stamps are being put in stock every day; if the quality and/or condition you are seeking is not listed, please send your want list.

The publication of this list is a "first effort" in quite a long time. It surely includes a few errors; I will be grateful if you would inform me of any errors you notice. Stamps "missing" from the list simply might not be included because they are not in stock or are singles which are normally only listed in full sets. Just the same, if it seems like something obvious (and not a single from a set, or a rarity) is missing, please let me know. If you can offer for sale items that are not listed here, please do so; I especially need sources of pre-1940 mint (hinged or never hinged) stamps and recent used complete sets. Prices are subject to typographical error and change, but I will do my best to honor the listed prices to the extent of available stock.

See additional examples of Icelandic Stamps in the following Sections:
   New Arrivals.
Specialized Stamps many pages starting here (Varieties, Blocks, Cancellations, and other interesting items).
"Gallery" offering scarcer stamps such as Skillings, Prir overprints, and scarce I Gildi overprints.
Several "Bargains" pages offering inexpensive examples of stamps, usually with hidden defects.
Stamps with Tollur (customs revenue) cancellations.

TIP: The price list pages are in Scott number order. Once you are on a price list page, to most easily navigate these stamp price list pages, use the "drop down" menu located above this text (and at the bottom of every page). You can also hover over the numbered page links and read the name of the page in the bottom status bar of your browser.

3.  News and Comment Shopping Cart: Review or Check Out   Top

After the Fredericksburg, Virginia, coin & stamp show back in August, we held a drawing for a $25 gift certificate. The winner was L.P. from Falls Church, Virginia. Thank you to all those who attended.

The addition of the Iceland Stamp price list pages has boosted the total number of pages on the website to 1468! I still have a long way to go, however. If there is anything you are seeking that is not on the website, please send your want list.

With all the usual late-summer vacation travel and holidays, you may have missed some interesting announcements in recent E-News issues. Take a look at...

Sweden Linné Issues and Blackprints (August 23 2007 E-News)Some very interesting issues, including a very nice book containing two blackprints (likely to become quite scarce) and souvenir sheets with cylinder and counting numbers. Also an FDC of the complete Linne souvenir sheet.

Åland Frama (Machine) Stamp Surprise (August 2 2007 E-News) An interesting -- if not convoluted -- story of a machine stamp issue that is likely to be very scarce. Also with useful information about machine stamps in general.

Terrific Book on Slania-Engraved Stamps - Sale Price! (August 30 2007 emailed E-News, not on website)

The 1989 book by Lennart Bernadotte has long been regarded as probably the finest book about Slania's engravings. Bernadotte, a member of the Swedish royal family, was an admirer of Slania's engravings and a personal friend. Bernadotte, who died in 2004, was also a world-renowned macro photographer. This book showcases not only Slania's magnificent engraving work, but also Bernadotte's photographic skill.

This book has been difficult to obtain for the last few years, but I currently have a small quantity in stock and can offer it at a special sale price. Normally $97.50, for a short time it is only $89.00.

Czeslaw Slania's Life Work
(Bernadotte, 1989; Das Lebenswerk von Czeslaw Slania) A true masterwork by the world's leading macro-photographer at the time (and member of the Swedish royal family). An INCREDIBLE and unique book with hundreds of color photos and full page color transparencies. 221 pages in attractive loose-leaf binder that allows the pages to be removed for display. ENGLISH text and photo captions. This book has to be seen to be believed -- no amount of description in words can convey what this book does to showcase Slania's engravings. Highly recommended. #10023 Sale Price $89.00, plus shipping (normally $97.50 plus shipping)

(If you are not familiar with Wikipedia, it is a terrific resource; users can contribute content -- something very much needed in their philatelic areas.)

4.  Special Offers: Collections & Albums -- Great Buys Shopping Cart: Review or Check Out   Top

I am constantly buying large and small Scandinavian, U.S., and Worldwide collections. If you are considering getting into a new area and would like a "starter collection" (whether small or large), let me know about your interest. Also, if you are seeking used binders or used empty albums to match what you currently have, again, let me know. In the process of buying Scandinavian collections, many of my long-time clients (or their estates) ask that I assist in selling the non-Scandinavian portion of their collections. If there is something you are looking for, just let me know. Take a look at the current listings on the web site (but if you don't see your interest listed, please inquire -- most have not been listed on the web site yet).

I guarantee your satisfaction. Each item is one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of your check or money order if you prefer.

#731194   Aland Gutter Pairs 1984-1995 Collection on Lindner-T Blank Pages
Substantial collection of NH VF 1984-1991: 104 total gutter pairs making up 48 sets of gutter pairs (all in complete sets as issued) on 24 Lindner-T blank pages. These are the deluxe pages that sell for $2.60 to $2.90 page. These pages consist of a mix of 2, 4, 5, and 6-rows. The 24 pages are pristine and have a retail value of $62 or more; you could put the gutter pairs in a different album and use these pages as you please. The gutter pairs consist of a variety of with number, without number, or with emblem and include quite a few that are very hard (and costly) to obtain. Though the collection is not quite complete for the period, everything is in appropriate matched sets where present; there are no oddball pairs. The gutter pairs have a total individual value of $814.00 (as I said, many scarcer items are included!) and include some I really need in stock. Pristine condition for stamps and pages. $595.00

#730234   Denmark Never Hinged Collection 1984-90
Immaculate collection of about 110 different Mint, 1984-90, on Lindner-T hingeless pages. Commemoratives and semi-postals are all complete sets, plus a nice range of definitives including many of the higher value Lion types. Condition is pristine, Never Hinged, and uniformly VF. If purchased individually, Jay Smith retail totals $213.75. In addition, the Lindner-T hingeless pages run from 1972-90 (page #36-77 complete) in a like-new blue padded binder with matching slipcase (retail value $198!). Altogether a $411 retail value for a very low price! (The stamps/pages vs the binder/slipcase can be purchased separately.) (Old #30234) $259.00

#730285   Finland Used Semi-postal Collection 1931-71
Collection of 136 different Used Finland semi-postals to 1971 on Scott Specialty album pages (pages run to 1984). Many complete sets including B9-30. Nearly all F-VF or better with a huge percentage VF. Many of these issues are quite scarce used (and consequently woefully undercataloged by Scott), particularly the afore-mentioned sets of the 1930s. Jay Smith retail for this selection currently totals $360.80, so this collection affords a significant savings on this challenging area! (Old #30285) $189.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

#731101   Norway Collection of Mint Blocks 1944-69
Collection of 114 different Mint (hinged) blocks of 4, mostly mounted on album leaves. Includes many complete commemorative sets and some better values from the 1962-68 regular issues. Condition throughout is sound and VF. My retail price for this same group as hinged singles totals $488, so as a group this collection affords a significant savings! $149.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

#731288   Sweden 1971-1983 Official First Day Cover Collection
Large, significantly complete, collection of 126 official, unaddressed first day covers. All clean and attractive. The covers seem to all include the official insert card with information about the issues. A tremendous range of topics included and with many, many stamps engraved by SLANIA. Total JSA retail is over $250 -- there is a lot of value here! $119.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

#730030   Sweden Modern Postal Stationery Collection
Terrific collection of approximately 70 1970s-1995 Swedish postal stationery items, including MANY VERY SCARCE ITEMS. All VF, about 70% Mint and 30% FDC including some very scarce FDC items. Included are SLANIA issues, Europa, almost-unheard-of Bingo-Berra (Bear) Lottery Card Sheet, and much more. Includes several items of which only a few thousand were printed and which I have never seen offered by any other dealer. Total of my prices would come out about at about $260-290. This is a terrific start on a modern Swedish stationery collection and is a SUPER VALUE. (Old #30030) $175.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

WORLDWIDE COLLECTIONS

For more, see: U.S. and Worldwide Collections

#731378   United States: Two Beginner Collections 1861-1952
A couple of hundred mostly used stamps in Scott American album and Minkus softbound album. These are basically starter collections with some better values in variable condition. The highlight of this lot is an average 1869 2c Post Rider (#113, cat $100). Condition is very mixed: most of the better stamps have faults but there is much F-VF including some useful medium values (we spotted a decent mint C11, for example). If you enjoy sifting through old albums you should find some decent kernels amidst the chaff! $45.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

#731229   Canada Year Grouping 1997
All different, almost complete for the year, large selection of Canadian issues for the year, including singles, mini-sheets, souvenir sheets, and booklets. All NH VF. Includes nice topicals such as flowers, hockey, Formula One racing, sharks, etc. Some are scarcer issues worth a premium. Priced at 10% BELOW face value of C$230! Great selection at low cost! $182.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

#731173   Fiji Queen Elizabeth II Collection 1953-97
Mounted collection of over 300 stamps, mostly different, mint and used, on hand-drawn pages. Includes some mint sets and souvenir sheets and also some used issues which can be very difficult to find used. Condition is nearly all F-VF or better with a high percentage VF. Scott 2007 retail totals $371.49. $109.00
Order Online  (Will open a new window; the new window may be under current window.)

#731379   Worldwide Collection 1950s-60s
Collection of many hundreds (maybe 1000-1500?) different, mint and used on Scott International album pages in blue International binder inscribed Part VII (even though the pages are from various parts). Very scattered contents; a few mint sets and a few better values (best stamp we saw was Papua #144 used, cat $16). Condition is F-VF or better, with nearly all VF. This is a nice clean lot which should be fun for a worldwide collector / accumulator to pick through. The binder is in excellent used condition and is worth nearly this much! $45.00
