Subjects include: pre-stamp postmarks, stamps up to 1940 and definitive stamps thereafter, varieties and specialized listings, pricing for various types of cancellations (numerals, stars, etc.) on stamp and on cover for different early stamp issues, coil stamps, advertising pairs, L-number plate blocks, etc., etc. Other countries not as specialized, but still very useful. Finland is served by two very useful specialized catalogs: Norma and LAPE. Both are very useful and both have different strengths. Both were revitalized by new publishers around 2000 and editions since that time are much larger than earlier editions. They use different numbering systems (true of every catalog). The serious Finnish specialist will want both catalogs. The Facit Catalog is also very widely used (probably the most widely used outside of Finland).

Until 1994 (after which it was discontinued), the primary catalog for Iceland was the ISLENSK FRIMERKI or ICELANDIC STAMPS catalog. Every year it included useful special articles, many of which are still only recorded in this form. The serious Icelandic specialist will want to build a complete set of these catalogs. These can be very difficult to obtain. ENGLISH TEXT is usually included for most listings.

Handlerkatalog Norge, Nr 28, Winter 1998/1999: This is a non-specialized "stamp shop catalog" that is distributed by Norwegian dealers and is somewhat akin to the Brookman Catalog for U.S. stamps. It uses NK numbering but with more realistic pricing than NK. In Norwegian, but very easy to use. Slick printing, full color, very handy. Probably never actually used; pages pristine, but binding with a couple blemishes probably from shipping.
