These gently used books and catalogs are a great way to build your philatelic knowledge and library. All items are used and in at least "good" condition unless otherwise mentioned. I am constantly purchasing philatelic libraries, thus if there is anything you are seeking, please let me know. I guarantee your satisfaction.
Due to the low prices and variation in weight, shipping cost is additional for items in the Specials Literature listings unless otherwise mentioned. When ordering please include a note in the shopping cart comments section indicating if you prefer faster/costlier or slower/cheaper delivery so that I may more quickly quote the shipping costs and options for you.
Each item is usually one of a kind; orders will be filled in order of receipt. Payment by MasterCard or Visa suggested, but I will hold items for 10 days pending receipt of check if you prefer.
Illustrations of books in the Specials section may show representative images and not the exact item. If you hover your mouse pointer over a picture, you should see a small message box stating if the image is representative or of the exact item.
One Hundred Years of Icelandic Stamps 1873-1973: (Jonsson, 1977; English edition) The classic handbook of Icelands first 100 years of stamps and postal history. Color-illustrated and very readable, this book is extremely useful for collectors at all levels of specialization. Completely in English, beautifully printed and in slip case. This copy is previously owned, but is like-new; you would not know it was not new if I had not told you! If you enjoy Icelandic stamps, you will love this book! New is available (#17001 normally $85, but on sale at $59) if you prefer.

Islands Frimerker - En Kortfattet Oversikt: (Carl A. Pihl, 1946) An overview of Icelandic stamps and philately. Reprint (outprint) #3 from Norsk Filatelistisk Tidsskrift magazine, card bound, 27 pages. In Norwegian, well illustrated. Pihl is perhaps most well known for his work on Norwegian locals, but he had many interests. This was probably serialized in the magazine and then published all together in this form. The content is remarkably sophisticated, detailed, and specialized for the day. As an early post-WWII publication, this is extremely scarce; I believe it is only the second copy I have had (the other is in my library). Pristine condition except for a minor stain in the margin of second half of the pages.

Postal Service in Iceland 1776 - May 13th - 1951: Published in 1951 by the Icelandic post office, this terrific English-text 52-page softbound book gives an extremely interesting and useful overview of Icelandic postal history. It is remarkably difficult to obtain nowadays. Used with worn spine, but in much better condition that I typically see. (Old #60191)
