The cancel date confirms this as Facit #18Sa, a scarce stamp on cover; 2006 Facit value SEK 2500 = $340, for ordinary quality. This example is in beautiful quality; probably the freshest cover with the 5 penni stamp that I have had in 33 years! |

22 (Facit #17S) [1879 25p perf 11, Senate Printing] (F-VF) on attractive 18 July 1881 cover from WIBORG (in Karelia, Lost Territory now in Russia), with arc-style postmark, to Russia. Clear Russian receivers showing the cover being received "before" it was mailed due to the Russian use of the Julian calendar. Very neat and in unusually nice quality! |
