APO 610 operated in Iceland at Keflavik 1 May 1943 through 27 March 1947 (per Facit 1995-96). Watch for the different styles and types of the postmarks, including the center date/time information and the location of the APO number in the postmark. The different numbers, styles, and colors of the censorship handstamps are also collected.

APO 610 (Keflavik) hand cancel "DEC / 30 / 1943 / 610" with the 610 in the center. Sent free by surface mail. Self-censored by a captain with the "959A B.S. Bn" and with black round #0065 censor handstamp. Superb condition.

APO 610 (Keflavik) hand cancel "MAR / 24 / 1944 / 610" with the 610 in the center. Sent free by surface mail by a private with the "6th (?) Signal Inst Team". Censored two or three times with violet #0840 round handstamp, black #00825 rectangular handstamp, and with a censorship tape. It is very unusual to see covers that have been re-censored in such a manner.

Not censored (after the war). With unusual LEWISBURG, PA boxed receiver. Early post-war mail is much scarcer than war-time mail.

APO 610 (Keflavik) machine cancel "US ARMY / JAN / 12 / 4 PM / A.P.O. 610" with the 610 at the bottom of the circle. The sender (unknown) apparently did not have free franking privilege thus the letter was sent by surface using 3 cent U.S. Army issue. This machine cancellation is seldom offered.
