Scott #O65 4-block Non-Fluor; and Fluor: #O66 Pair, O68 Blue Green; and from next (Lithographed) issue #O110 [Officials: 1955 5 øre Photogravure Non-Fluor; 1972 10 øre Photogravure Fluor; 1969 20 øre blue green Photogravure Fluor; and 1975 2 kr Lithographed] (VF) remarkable combination of stamps from THREE DIFFERENT ERAS making the 2.50 kr CORRECT POSTAL RATE for the basic (to 20 grams) domestic letter rate from 1 March 1983 thru 28 February 1987. This cover was mailed 16 May 1983 from RØROS during the two year transition period that was in place after the official stamps mail service ended after 31 March 1983. During the two year transition period, government offices could use up existing stocks, and even combine them with regular postage stamps and meter imprints as needed. Though such covers from the transition period are "rarely" offered, some unusual uses have been seen. While it is possible that such a cover could have been philatelically inspired, at this writing it is now 43 years old and has long-since earned its status as a very unusual cover! This is the only THREE DIFFERENT ERAS cover, from before or during the transition period, that I have ever had or seen. This would be a wonderful key item for a last page of Norway Official Stamps on Covers collection. ACTUAL item. |
