6 Light Green [1858 5 öre Coat of Arms] Used with F-VF centering and very well centered and crisp AVESTA 6 May 1871 cancellation (almost perfectly centered vertically, just a little too the left to be called a Superb cancellation). While this town is not scarce, such nice cancellations on this stamp are unusual. Perfect perforations and fresh color. A very attractive example!

7 Blue Violet (Facit #8d) [1858 9 öre Coat of Arms] Mint with F-VF centering and so lightly hinged you may not be able to find the hinge mark even with a 10x magnifying glass. Accompanied by a 2012 Helena Obermüller-Wilén certificate stating that it is mint with original gum, with a SFF grade of 3,3,4 and with the comment that translates to "A very beautiful and fresh example". It really is an extremely nice example of a stamp that is quite scarce in such fresh condition.

7 [1858 9 öre Coat of Arms] Used VF+ centered example with wonderful perfectly upright and fully dated 8 January 1864 FALKÖPING postmark, but just slightly off to the right. Faint corner crease, not visible from front (otherwise would easily sell for $375). Beautiful appearance of a stamp that is not often seen with such a nice postmark.

11 Rose Brown (Scott 2018 Classic #11b) (Facit #11g) [1858 30 öre Coat of Arms] Mint, NEVER HINGED, original gum, with F-VF centering. Accompanied by a 2012 Helena Obermüller-Wilén certificate stating that it is mint with original gum, never hinged ("postfrisk"), with a SFF grade of 3,3,5 and with the comment that translates to "A very beautiful and fresh example". Wonderful delicate color, perfect perforations, and perfect gum (with the expected "pooling" of the later printings). While mint examples of this workhorse stamp are offered in the market, they are usually dingy and shopworn, and rarely NH -- NH examples are very scarce. Facit 2018 value SEK 9000 for least costly printing. An outstanding example with freshness rarely seen!

11 GROUP OF 6 COLORS [1858 30 öre Coat of Arms] Used group of 6 F-VF (or better) centered stamps, each with a different color/shade. Colors range from Browns to Dark Red Brown (Scott 11a) to Light Rose Red Brown (Scott 11b, Facit 11c -- scarce, Facit 2020 value SEK 1000). All are attractive and without defects these are NOT seconds! These six colors include the scarcest color and make up the majority of the ten Facit-listed colors (which some consider to be only eight different colors; see the Facit listing). Very fresh and attractive.

Scott #11 Light Red Brown, Facit #11b [1858 30 öre Coat of Arms] Used with Superb centering and neat 17 August 1860 cancellation, but with a couple of short perforations. The cancellation date limits the color/printing possibilities to Facit #11a, b, and c: dark red brown, red brown, and light pinkish red brown. Though this initially looks like the third color -- which is very scarce -- this is darker than that, but this is certainly not the dark red brown. Despite that, the color of this example is lighter than the "regular" red brown and is quite distinctive. An attractive example, that with this centering would otherwise be $45 if not for the short perforations. Offered at a very low price.

12a Dark Carmine, "1855 Perforations" [1858 50 öre Coat of Arms] Mint VF, but without gum (typical). Great "1855" perforations (variable tooth size and blind perfs) and incredible color! (The carmine colors, Scott #12a, were perforated on an older machine with many bent or missing teeth, resulting in an irregular perforation appearance. These are referred to as "1855 perforations" in the literature. The machine was replaced in 1865.) The Facit 2015 value (with gum) for the Carmines ranges SEK 6000-8000 (12/14 US$900-1200). Very pretty!
