18 Gray [1876 4 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Mint, original gum slightly disturbed (from hinge removal), with Fine+ centering, but tiny thin speck. Very fresh appearance, with perfect perforations, and excellent color. Unusual plate variety: Large white spot to left of "4". This is a very scarce stamp in Mint condition. From the Haggstrom collection. (Facit Classic 2024 SEK 4,500 with nothing added for the plate variety.)

20 (Dark) Violet [1872 6 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Used with F-VF centering and neat cancellation, but with a tiny tear between two perforation teeth (you will need a magnifying glass to see it). This is a very striking, dark color, but it is not the "dark violet" which is much deeper. However, in my opinion, it is too dark to call "dark lilac". A very attractive stamp at a great price.

20a, Facit #20b Ultramarinish Violet on Yellowish Paper [1872 6 öre violet Ringtype, Perf 14] Mint, original gum, with Fine+ centering, but with tiny bend (appears to be pre-printing) and small natural paper inclusion. Very fresh appearance, with perfect perforations, and excellent color. This color exists on both yellowish and white paper (Facit #20b vs #20c); this the least costly printing of dark violet. This is a scarce stamp in Mint condition though this particular color/printing does not carry a premium. From the Haggstrom collection. (Facit Classic 2024 SEK 3,500.)

22 [1872 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Used with F-VF+ centering and a neat, crisp, almost complete, KUNGSBACKA 24 October 1875 cancellation. The stamp has a somewhat unusual grainy, blurry print. While the cancellation itself is not scarce, having such a nicely dated example on a stamp with unusual printing appearance can help to determine which printing the stamp is from. Very attractive!

23, Facit #22d Pale Red [1872 20 öre red-orange Ringtype, Perf 14] Mint, original gum modestly hinged, with F-VF+ centering. Very fresh appearance, with excellent perforations, and wonderful, delicate color. This color is seldom seen in Mint condition in such nice quality -- I believe that this is the first undamaged Mint example of this color that I have had in 50 years! The 20 öre stamp is very scarce in Mint condition regardless of the particular color/printing. From the Haggstrom collection. (Facit Classic 2024 SEK 12,000.)

Facit assigns this color a slightly higher value, but nice looking examples are much, much scarcer than Facit suggests.

Scott #23b, Facit #23a DOUBLE PRINT [1876 20 on 20 öre Ringtype Perforation 14] Used F-VF with neat, crisp 1877 cancellation. There is a small natural paper inclusion in the bottom margin. One original printing of the 20 öre was so light in Pale Orange color as to be almost useless (though some were released and used; quite scarce) and thus they were run through the press again to print in a darker color. Facit lists three possible color groups on top of the Pale Orange. The colors were hand-mixed as needed and were not always consistent, even though the printing may have been done within a very short time span. This is Facit #23a, the Orange Red, however, the orange of this example is even brighter than typically found. The orange (top) color is shifted slightly up by one frameline width and to the left by four frameline widths. This example is a little more obvious than usual (clearly visible to the experienced eye, but as always more visible with a 10x magnifier). Such nice looking examples are scarce -- and especially when in such nice quality and with a neat postmark.

One original printing of the 20 öre was so light in Pale Orange color as to be almost useless (though some were released and used; quite scarce) and thus they were run through the press again to print in a darker color. Facit lists three possible color groups on top of the Pale Orange. The colors were hand-mixed as needed and were not always consistent, even though the printing may have been done within a very short time span. This is Facit #23c, the "Dull Red". The red (top) color is shifted slightly down by two frameline widths and to the right by two frameline widths. This example is clearly visible to the experienced eye, but, as always, is more visible with a 10x magnifier. A nice example of this important major variety.

The red (top) color is shifted slightly down by zero frameline widths and to the left by four frameline widths. This example is clearly visible to the experienced eye, but, as always, is more visible with a 10x magnifier. A nice example of this important major variety. Such nicely canceled examples are "scarce".

24, Facit #24e Orange Yellow [1872 24 öre orange-yellow Ringtype, Perf 14] Mint, original gum lightly hinged (though extremely slightly disturbed which most people could not detect), with F-VF centering. Very fresh appearance, with excellent perforations, and wonderful color. The 24 öre stamp is very scarce in Mint condition regardless of the particular color/printing. From the Haggstrom collection. 24 Bright Orange, SHADED NUMERALS [1872 24 öre Ringtype, Perf 14] Used with F-VF centering and neat, light cancellation. This example clearly shows shading in both "24" numerals, clear of the cancellation. Shaded numerals are listed by Facit and are not "scarce", but on the 24 öre stamps, they are very hard to see and hard to find. The Facit 2024 Classic value of the shaded numerals on the most common color shade is SEK 500! An attractive example.

27, Facit #27d Orange Brown and Blue [1872 1 rd orange-brown and blue Ringtype, Perf 14] Mint, regummed, with F-VF centering. Perfect perforations and excellent color. The 1 riksdaler stamp is very scarce in Mint condition regardless of the particular color/printing and even regardless of the gum condition; no-gum examples are scarce too! From the Haggstrom collection. (Facit Classic 2024 SEK 12,000 for original gum.)

27a Orange Brown and Ultramarine [1872 1 riksdaler Ringtype, Perf 14] Used with VF centering, great color, and excellent perforations. Many examples of this stamp have a "muddy" appearance, but this has very fresh, crisp, light colors -- and a very crisp, detailed printing impression. Very attractive.
