145 Type I, Dull Orange Yellow, Facit #156a [1922 35 öre Crown and Posthorn, Unwatermarked] Mint, lightly hinged, with XF centering, but one short perforation tooth (very typical). This is one of the two colors of this Type I issue (they are of equal value); this color always has a filled-in appearance and less-white paper. Strong color, excellent perforations (other than one, this issue usually has poor perforations), and outstanding centering. The two types of this stamp have spaces in most European-made albums and Facit assigns them different whole numbers. Type I has a one-column open area (no horizontal shading) next to the lower right side of T of POST. On Type II stamps, that area has full horizontal shading lines. (The Facit Classic Catalog has excellent illustrations of the difference.) These are considered to be "secret marks" that differentiate the earlier Canadian-made "Ottawa plates" from the later Swedish-made "Stockholm plates". Facit Classic 2025 value SEK 250 for normal centering. A very attractive example.

Scott #146 Type I, Facit #158 [1920 40 öre Crown and Posthorn, Type I] COIL PAIR Mint, original gum, NEVER HINGED, with Fine centering, but the left stamp has a strong bend (not a crease) and the right has some creasing. Though we all wish the quality was better, this pair looks very fresh and nice from the front, with great color; extremely nice perforations; and original, never hinged gum. The Facit Classic Catalog 2024 value is SEK 2,000 = $200 [8/2026] total for TWO single NH stamps, but pairs are certainly scarcer. However, due to the quality issues, I am pricing this scarce pair as if they were creased examples of two Hinged (even though they are NH) single stamps.

Scott #146 Type II BLACKISH OLIVE GREEN, Facit #159a [1920 40 öre Crown and Posthorn, Type II, Without Watermark] COIL PAIR Mint, original gum, NEVER HINGED, with Average centering. Though we all wish the centering was better, this pair is wonderfully fresh with deep, intense color; excellent perforations; and post-office-fresh, original, never hinged gum. This stamp color is one of the scarcest stamps, that is not a watermark variety, especially in NH condition, in the Crown and Posthorn set. A NH example of this stamp is missing from most Swedish NH collections. The Facit Classic Catalog 2024 value is SEK 10,000 = $1000 [8/2026] total for TWO single NH stamps, but pairs are certainly scarcer. I am offering this as the intact pair because it would be nice to keep such a scarce item intact, but I am willing to consider breaking it into two singles -- your choice -- at $195 each. This item is appropriately priced very low due to the centering -- but NH examples of this stamp are still "very scarce"!
