Interesting plate varieties with damaged bottom frame line at lower left corner and with blue spot outside right frame line. The hand-mixed and hand-applied gum of the different printings varies greatly in appearance, thickness, and how it air-dried as the sheets were laid out to dry; this example has thick, fairly smooth, naturally yellowish gum with thicker areas. An excellent example of a workhorse stamp that is scarce NH with such nice centering. ACTUAL item. |

Wonderfully fresh with perfect perforations, though there is a small bend (not a crease) that is visible only from the reverse. Unusually white paper, thus very high contrast with the dark blue ink. The hand-mixed and hand-applied gum of the different printings varies greatly in appearance, thickness, and how it air-dried as the sheets were laid out to dry; this example has thick, fairly smooth, naturally yellowish gum with thicker areas. An excellent example of a workhorse stamp that is scarce NH with such nice centering. The Dark Blue printings are generally much scarcer and seem to be especially scarce in NH condition.
