32 Medium Blue [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] NEVER HINGED with F-VF++ centering. Wonderfully fresh with perfect perforations. Interesting plate varieties with damaged bottom frame line at lower left corner and with blue spot outside right frame line. The hand-mixed and hand-applied gum of the different printings varies greatly in appearance, thickness, and how it air-dried as the sheets were laid out to dry; this example has thick, fairly smooth, naturally yellowish gum with thicker areas. An excellent example of a workhorse stamp that is scarce NH with such nice centering.

32 Medium Blue [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] NEVER HINGED with F-VF centering. Wonderfully fresh with perfect perforations. Unusually clear and sharp impression. A very nice example of a workhorse stamp that is scarce in NH condition!

32 Dark Blue [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] NEVER HINGED with F-VF+ centering. Wonderfully fresh with perfect perforations, though there is a small bend (not a crease) that is visible only from the reverse. Unusually white paper, thus very high contrast with the dark blue ink. The Dark Blue printings are generally much scarcer and seem to be especially scarce in NH condition.

32 Dark Blue [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] NEVER HINGED with F-VF centering. Wonderfully fresh with perfect perforations, though there is a light bend (not a crease) that is visible only from the reverse. The perforations of this example have unusually narrow, sharp teeth -- initially making it look like the Perf 14 stamp. The Dark Blue printings are generally much scarcer and seem to be especially scarce in NH condition.

32 Dark Blue [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] Mint, modestly hinged, with F-VF centering. Wonderfully fresh and crisp, high-contrast example of this workhorse stamp (which can be hard to find Mint in nice quality).

32 Medium Blue [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] Mint (actually has never been hinged) with Fine centering, but has small thin and creased at lower left. Otherwise very fresh with attractive. Interesting plate variety with eroded right side of central circle. The hand-mixed and hand-applied gum of the different printings varies greatly in appearance, thickness, and how it air-dried as the sheets were laid out to dry; this example has thick, partly crackly, naturally yellowish gum with thicker areas. This would otherwise be $69 for NH in this centering.

32 [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] Used Fine, with attractive, though light, well centered, and nearly complete SHIP MAIL CANCELLATION: "ÅNGBÅTS PXP No 58" 14 June 1881. While route 58 operated from 1875 into 1928, it was used on two different ships and 12 different route variations -- during 1880-1882, it was used aboard the ship "Oskarshamn" on the route "Oskarshamn-Kalmar, Oskarshamn-Verkebäck (including Öland). Facit Postal IX (2015) values all routes before 1888 at SEK 500. Scarce and attractive!

Scott #35 [1877 30 öre Ringtype, Perforation 13] Used F-VF. KRISTINEH(AMN) December 12, 1878 cancel, XF. The stamp has interesting "white spots around 30" variety. Excellent color and overall appearance. The cancellation is almost perfectly centered except that the size of this cancel is too large to fit completely on one stamp; this is about as good as it can get!

Scott #37, Facit #37 [1877 En Riksdaler Perforation 13 Ring Type] Mint, original gum, very lightly hinged, with Fine+ centering; left sheet margin example. Perfect perforations, bright color, perfect lightly hinged gum, and wonderful freshness. Accompanied by a 1991 Helena Obermüller Wilén [retired now] "HOW" color certificate stating (translated from Swedish): "Sheet margin example... Unused with original gum... Medium good centering... The stamp is genuine... No faults... No repairs. An exceptionally beautiful example of a scarce stamp... A very good example." HOW assigned the Swedish quality rating of 3,3,4 [very fine quality, medium centering, first hinge mark]. HOW was (and still is) the premier certificate to have for this stamp. Though the certificate is from 1991, it is still considered to be as good or better than any certificate that could be made today. Most recently this stamp was in the Dr. John A. Haggstrom collection; he acquired it in 1991 from the highly respected Swedish dealer Karl Arne Norsten. In 52 years, I can only recall being able to offer three Mint Hinged singles of this "rare" stamp. A beautiful example of a stamp that is "rare" in Mint condition. If the next owner preferred to not have the sheet margin selvage attached, this could be removed, with little if any effect on the value, though doing so would make the certificate "less of a match". (Facit 2024 value SEK 20,000. Scott 2025 value US$2400.)
