The hand-mixed and hand-applied gum of the different printings varies greatly in appearance, thickness, and how it air-dried as the sheets were laid out to dry; this example has thick, fairly smooth, naturally yellowish gum with thicker areas. An excellent example of a workhorse stamp that is scarce NH with such nice centering. |

The hand-mixed and hand-applied gum of the different printings varies greatly in appearance, thickness, and how it air-dried as the sheets were laid out to dry; this example has thick, fairly smooth, naturally yellowish gum with thicker areas. 32 [1877 12 öre Ringtype, Perf 13] Used Fine, with attractive, though light, well centered, and nearly complete SHIP MAIL CANCELLATION: "ÅNGBÅTS PXP No 58" 14 June 1881. While route 58 operated from 1875 into 1928, it was used on two different ships and 12 different route variations -- during 1880-1882, it was used aboard the ship "Oskarshamn" on the route "Oskarshamn-Kalmar, Oskarshamn-Verkebäck (including Öland). Facit Postal IX (2015) values all routes before 1888 at SEK 500. Scarce and attractive! |
