CARLSBERG rectangular Type 2 postmark (VF) on a beautiful and fresh 11 July 1864 official mail folded cover, to Engelholm. Wonderful, complete, but divided by opening, red wax seal picturing three crowns and with the text "KRONO / ARBETS CORPSEN" (Royal Work Corps) / "CARLSBORG STATION". Wonderfully fresh appearance. A beautiful item in excellent quality for being 161 years old!

CARLSTAD rectangular Type 7 postmark (F-VF) on an attractive 16 December 1855 (about six months after the first Swedish stamps were issued) official mail folded cover, to Götheborg (Göteborg). This cancellation is recorded being used 1852-1855, thus a) it was used only for about 6 months in the stampless period and b) this is use very late for this postmark, perhaps one of the latest known?? With a SPECTACULAR, complete red wax seal, with very high relief, picturing local government coat of arms. A very interesting example of a very limited span of use in the stampless period. An outstanding item in excellent quality for being 170 years old!

SMEDJEBACKEN rectangular Type 3 postmark (XF) on an beautiful 7 May 1856 private mail (i.e. not official mail) folded cover. Though the destination at first looks like Vetlanda, that does not work out -- I suspect that this was local use which would be fairly unusual in such a small town. This cancellation is much scarcer than most in this period and it is a wonderfully clear and crisp strike. Partial red wax seal, showing the sender initials. An very attractive item in excellent quality for being 169 years old!
