4 [1860 5 kop Serpentine, Roulette I] VF+ with FULL TEETH on very large piece of cover front, with light ANK cancel, from HELSINGFORS to JACOBSTAD. The strong blue color suggests that it is Facit #3C1Ka, the first printing. However, because the top shows more than 1.6 mm between stamps, it is either from the top row in the sheet or it is from a later printing. If it is the first printing, the 2007 Facit value for a single stamp is SEK 7000 = $1050 (full teeth) and on full cover SEK 35,000 = $5250. However, even the most common printing on full cover is SEK 10,000 = $1500!!! This very fresh and attractive piece almost looks like a full cover, but is priced much, much lower, of course. A scarce item from this early era. Even the most common single stamp with FULL TEETH sells for $225!

4a, Facit 3C2 [5 kop Roulette II] Wonderful example with FULL TEETH on beautiful New Years Day 1 January 1866 cover (envelope!) from KARIS to Helsingfors, with VF "low box" KARIS cancellation. As nice an example as one could hope for. Accompanied by Mikko Ossa photo certificate stating that it is genuine and unrepaired. [Facit 2006 value for more typical quality is SKE 14,000 = $1950.

The 2012 Facit value for a full cover is SEK 14,000 = $2100. This very fresh and attractive piece looks like a full cover, but is priced much, much lower, of course. 5 [1860 10 kop Serpentine, Roulette I] with "K" (1.6 mm on all sides) stamp spacing. VF with FULL TEETH, on very large piece of cover front (with top back flap, but rest of back missing), with Superb TORNEÅ "D4 DEC 1861." low-box cancellation. Note the extraneous "D" in the date -- I have never seen this type of error before. The normal cancel has an "R3" rarity. The 2012 Facit value for a full cover is SEK 2200 = $330, while a full-teeth single stamp easily sells for $80-100. This very fresh and attractive piece looks like a full cover, but is priced much, much lower, of course. A scarce item from this early era at a very low price.

5a [1860 10 kop Serpentine, Roulette II] with "L" (2.3 mm on all sides) stamp spacing. VF appearance with one tooth shorter. On very large piece of cover front that looks like a full cover, with Superb ÅBO 6 July 1865 cancellations, and "FRANCO" in oval frame side cancel (scarce). The return address is commercial firm in Hamburg, German, and the address includes "Finnland", both indicating that the cover originated outside of Finland and carried outside of the mails via a forwarder who placed it in the mails at the Åbo port. The 2012 Facit value for a full cover of Roulette II is SEK 7500 = $1125! This very fresh and attractive piece looks like a full cover, but is priced much, much lower, of course. A scarce item from this early era at a very low price.

6b [1866 5 Pen, Roulette III, Reddish Brown] Very attractive stamp on 29 August 1874 printed matter post card, from KUPIO with "arc" style cancellation, to Jakobstad with ANK receiver. The teeth at top are short due to being placed at the top of the card, but otherwise the stamp is in wonderful quality. The printed card advertises the business of sales representative; the backside is blank. The card is exceptional in that everything is on one side (instead of the message being on the reverse). This type of card is fairly common from countries such as Switzerland, but this is the first Finnish example I have had. The 5 Pen denomination was primarily issued for this printed matter rate, however due to the nature of printed matter, relatively few examples have survived. Facit 2005 lists such a usage at SEK 8000 = $1125, however this remarkable example is unusually attractive.
