71 (Facit #56C2) [1901 5 pen, Letterpress Berlin Plate, Perf 14.25 x 14.75] (VF) on 1 March 1904 printed matter post card from HELSINGFORS, with a Superb tri-lingual bridge cancellation, used domestically to INKEROIS (Swedish spelling) with bilingual bridge receiving postmark. This village is now the area of Inkeroinen, now primarily a railway station absorbed into the town of Kouvola. Very attractive violet script address. Two filing holes typical for business correspondence. The card itself is quite interesting, with a message in violet reproduced script (a precursor to what we used to call a Ditto machine in the U.S.). The message is an announcement from the Finnish Steamship Corporation, describing direct freight ship service to Antwerp (Belgium), on the "Capella", now regularly sailing from Hango, Finland. Any postal history item related to ships and shipping is always sought after.
