306a variety, Facit #329bv, DOUBLED DESIGNERS NAME [1949 15 øre green Frederik IX, Type III in all catalogs (hollow lines in coat)] NH VF horizontal pair with the variety stamp on the right side. The "VIGGO BANG del." (the name of the stamp designer) is doubled. The philatelic term is "re-entry" when on an engraved stamp -- when the plate was made from the master die, this area was accidentally impressed twice. This variety comes from position 55 in every second sheet. Despite being 1 our of every 200 stamps printed, this variety is rarely offered; it has been many years since I have been able to offer a Mint NH (or Hinged) example. It is listed by Facit and by SAVA (the Danish plate variety catalog), but very strangely it is not listed (yet) in the AFA Specialized -- even though it is a very obvious and interesting variety.

TB 36 (Facit #TB 330bv) 15 øre Dark Lilac Frederik IX. [Scott #319 Dark Lilac] NH with VF centering. Tete-beche with gutter. This issue is special case: AFA only lists TB 36 as existing in one color (plus TB 34 gray violet), however, TB 36 exists in both significantly different Dark Lilac and Light Red Lilac colors. AFA indicates that 1400 pairs were released, but this quantity must be divided between the Dark Lilac and Light Red Lilac colors. Extremely fresh. With sheet selvage -- I can remove the selvage if you prefer.

Such well struck posmarks from this era can be hard to find.

394 [1963 90 øre King Frederik IX, side facing] Used 4-BLOCK with VF centering and Superb LUNDBY 1 June 1965 cancellation. This is a key values of a set in Used blocks; even Used single stamps can be hard to find well centered and neatly canceled. Lundy is a small village, really just a cross-roads community that had low mail volume. Building a Used set of 4-blocks of this King design would be a fun challenge, but by starting with this key block it would be a little easier.
