There are three printings / colors of this stamp. This example is the Rose and Dark Olive Green; this rose is in the middle of the three frame colors and this Dark Olive Green is between the Light Olive Green and the Dark Green. A very nice example! Scott #P18 [1914 38 øre Newspaper, Perf 14 x 14.5, Watermark Crosses] BLOCK OF FOUR, Used with VF centering and fairly neat, fully dated 5 February 1915 cancellations. Wonderful color and "perfect" perforations. Strong and sound; the perforations have never been folded. As a Used single stamp, this is a "scarce", key stamp that is missing from most collections. (Mint singles are rarities!) However, this is "very rare" as a Used block. This is the only Used block that I have recorded having in 52 years -- I was stunned when I saw this one! The AFA 4-Block Catalog 2017 (the last edition of which I am aware) lists this block at DKK 8000 (approximately US$1300), however very few examples of Used blocks exist! With only 19,500 single stamps issued, the current single-stamp value is far too low in my opinion; by comparison, Denmark Scott #21 had an issue of 30,000 and a Used example sells for $3,500 to $5,000! An extraordinary block that would be a showpiece in any collection and would be a critical item for a specialized collection of the Danish newspaper stamps. Only a very few people at any one time can own an example of this rarity! ACTUAL item. |
