| 2. U.S. & Canadian Stamps -- Send Your Want List |

I have slowly been building a stock of U.S. and Canadian stamps. Not just the "better" items that every dealer seems to want to offer (though such items are on my website -- see above), but the "normal" stamps, plate blocks, coil numbers, sheets, etc. that you may need to fill in empty spots in your collection. Eventually all of this material will get put on the website, but it might take another couple years. In the meantime, please send your want list!
When it comes to Scandinavian stamps, most clients prefer the convenience of sending me their want list -- I can help with U.S. and Canadian stamps as well! From your want list, I will send stamps on approval...
 According to any order-of-sending priority or other instructions you give me.
In the Condition (NH, Mint Hinged, Used) and Quality (VF, F-VF, Fine, etc.) you request. I will not waste your time sending stamps that will not meet your standards. (On the other hand, if you want examples with hidden faults at super-low prices, I may have something to offer as well.)
At the frequency you desire (every couple weeks, monthly, every other month ... whatever works best for you).
To the selection size you prefer (minimum $40 to cover the costs, please).
My approvals are specifically prepared for you, from your want list. These are not "hit or miss" pre-made selections such as you may have received from other sources.
If you have a specific want list, that is great. On the other hand, some clients prefer to send me photocopies of some of their album pages -- that works great too. Also, if you need most of the stamps in a particular number range or for a range of years, you can just give me the parameters and I will take it from there.
You will have the convenience of examining the stamps and considering the prices (very competitive) before making your final purchase decision. While I ask that you take a look at the approvals within 10 days, I completely understand that we all lead busy lives. Whether your time is taken up by work, family events, travel, etc., there is no reason why you cannot receive stamps on approval -- you deserve it! If I don't hear from you, I will probably send a little reminder nudge after a month, but I don't get stressed about it and neither should you.
If you need some costly stamps and/or it would just simply be more convenient, you are always welcome to make payments that are convenient for you. If you have a limited stamp budget (don't we all), you can get around the $40 minimum by making payments (I sent $40 and you make a couple payments). On the other hand, if your time is very limited and you only want to receive approvals four times per year, I can send quarterly large groups and then make monthly credit card charges (up to a maximum amount per your instructions). Some clients want to be sure to get whatever comes along that is on their want lists, but sometimes that is nothing and sometimes it might total $1000 -- monthly payments can conveniently spread out the expenditure. There are many reasons for payments -- roughly 25% of my regular approval clients choose to make payments for their convenience. I am happy to offer this service.
Unlike some large stamp firms, I do not charge your credit card for stamps sent on approval at the time of the sending (unless, of course, you want me to do so).
Payment can be by check, money order, MasterCard / Visa, PayPal, etc. Many clients ask me to automatically charge their credit card after 30 days -- I can do that if you wish, or you can give me instructions each time.
I endeavor to make approvals as convenient as possible. For my own collection [one design (Merson) of France & Colonies stamps -- I don't compete with my clients!], I prefer to receive items on approval. I always keep in mind what is easiest and most helpful for YOU!
Perhaps it goes without saying, but all of the above applies to Scandinavian stamps as well.

Whenever I offer "Specials" items -- collections, lots, accumulations, albums & binders, and used books -- in the E-News, there are always some that I am just sure are going to be snapped up in a matter of a few minutes. Most of the time I am right, but now and then there is a real gem that does not quickly find a new home. Maybe the problem is due to my description or maybe it is one of those items that really needs to have some photos.
In this issue of the E-News (in sections 5 and 6 below), I have listed some of the "I Can't Believe That It Has Not Sold" items. These really deserve your attention!

We don't usually attend smaller or regional shows, but as our stock is getting broader and airline travel with our stock is less economical, we are starting to attend more regional shows. One such show coming up soon is....

#731194 Aland Gutter Pairs 1984-1995 Collection on Lindner-T Blank Pages
Substantial collection of NH VF 1984-1991: 104 total gutter pairs making up 48 sets of gutter pairs (all in complete sets as issued) on 24 Lindner-T blank pages. These are the deluxe pages that sell for $2.60 to $2.90 page. These pages consist of a mix of 2, 4, 5, and 6-rows. The 24 pages are pristine and have a retail value of $62 or more; you could put the gutter pairs in a different album and use these pages as you please. The gutter pairs consist of a variety of with number, without number, or with emblem and include quite a few that are very hard (and costly) to obtain. Offered exactly as received in three handsome large Scott Specialty binders with slip cases. Mounted on pages with spaces for all patterns, even if not present. Total of about 432 different patterns/types. All different positions on as many different stamps as could be found: 2959 stamps including many scarcer and many that I have never before seen with perfins!!! Set of Stender 1904-2004 Christmas Seal album pages (complete including most recent supplement). These pages have not been reprinted for quite some time, thus as supplements are issued, the appearance (shade of white) is slightly different, but the pages are brand new and normally sell for $21.95. Stender Christmas Seal pages have spaces for the singles 1904-1950 and then from 1951 to date, three to six random designs from each of the multi-design issues. Collection of 136 different Used Finland semi-postals to 1971 on Scott Specialty album pages (pages run to 1984). Many complete sets including B9-30. Nearly all F-VF or better with a huge percentage VF. Many of these issues are quite scarce used (and consequently woefully undercataloged by Scott), particularly the afore-mentioned sets of the 1930s. #730221 Finland M-30 Covers with All Different 1948-52 Town Cancellations
Impressive collection of 386 covers bearing 1930 Lion issue with ALL DIFFERENT 1948-52 town cancels. Concentrated around 1950, they have a mix of bridge-type (double-ring) and single-ring cancels. There are only a dozen or so machine cancels. There were very few cities and only a modest number of large towns in Finland in 1950, thus most of these are from small towns or tiny villages; many are likely to be scarce. Domestic genuine commercial usages on SMALL SIZE ENVELOPES (none with windows) with a nice variety of stamp frankings. #730022 Iceland NH "Plate" Blocks, 1964-82
Handsome collection of about 180 mint corner blocks in Hawid mounts, neatly arranged in two stockbooks. Scott number ranges of 360//566, B17-24, C30-1. All complete sets. About 180 different stamps represented. Because Iceland has very few pre-1982 issues with actual plate numbers, these blocks are the closest possibilities (serial numbered or a few unnumbered, as exists). Terrific collection of approximately 70 1970s-1995 Swedish postal stationery items, including MANY VERY SCARCE ITEMS. All VF, about 70% Mint and 30% FDC including some very scarce FDC items. Included are SLANIA issues, Europa, almost-unheard-of Bingo-Berra (Bear) Lottery Card Sheet, and much more. #730134 Sweden Cancellations on Piece
Very interesting clippings (many nearly full coupon size, see illustration) from money orders, parcel cards, and cash-on-delivery cards ranging from about 1948 to 1960. The clippings are all clean and neat (not torn). Many show nice cancellations (but not all). Additionally quite a few have nice postmark strikes on the reverse (see one illustrated) also. Sure there is duplication and sure some cancels are not clear. However, overall this should yield a lot of collectable pieces. (If they were full cards, they would run $4-8 each!) #731342 U.S. Never Hinged Collection on National Pages through 1997
Very neat and clean set of Scott National album pages (no binder) from 1847 through 1997, with a modest range of stamps. Only a very few pre-1935 stamps. Almost complete NH VF 1935-52 including a nice set of the 1940 Famous Americans with a nice A.G. Bell stamp (set retail around $38 for this quality). Then a smattering of 1970s and 1987-95 NH VF stamps with a face value of about $82. Concluded by a decent range of airmail stamps. Probably less than 10 stamps are Used; the rest appear to be virtually all NH VF. The stamps present are in neat black Showgard mounts; a few empty mounts are also in place, again very neatly. This is more of an "album" than a "collection" but does contain useful stamps. The current retail price of the pages alone is around $120! $143.00

The complete set of the 10 Celebrate the Century full sheets in a very nice officially issued USPS black album with a padded cover and silver lettering. Album has one page protector for each sheet so that the front and back can be viewed. It seems that most of these books have been broken up and nearly impossible to find as a whole. Mounted collection on hand-drawn pages. 165 stamps, mint and used, including useful selections of earlies, King Edward VII, King George V, and King George VI. The 1938-51 issues include a few blocks and some perforation varieties. Condition is nearly all F-VF or better with much VF. Scott 2007 retail is $387.35. $109.00

#731211 West Germany "Bundesrepublik" NH VF Collection 1949-1995
Four green Lindner #1104 albums of Lindner-T pages [the really nice pages] with matching slip cases. It starts at Lindner page #1 for Bundesrepublik. The album pages actually go to 1996, but the stamps only to 1995. Lindner does sell individual pages, etc., so there should be no problem in adding from here. On the first four pages, we found 6 hinged stamps, but only NH after that. Otherwise it appears that everything is NH. It is incredibly clean and attractive and fresh. As I have looked through it, I noted that generally the quality (centering) and overall appearance was superior! The collector took great care in building this collection. The collection is nearly complete and is offered exactly as received -- absolutely nothing has been added or removed. The "Posthorn" and "Building" sets are not present (the previous owner had not acquired them). There are just a very few other stamps not present: I believe the few that are missing are from booklets or are machine stamps. We totaled the catalog value using a 2003 Michel Catalog. That may seem odd, but we used Michel because a) the album pages have spaces for a number of stamps that Scott does not list and b) Scott is very much behind the times. Michel values have gone up a bit since that 2003 catalog, but that is in your favor; we simply did not have a more recent edition handy. The total 2003 Michel value is EURO 5409 which currently equals $7300!! If you are looking for a SUBSTANTIAL collection of West Germany, this is it! The albums are "like new" in pristine condition. The current Lindner retail for them is $796 just for the pages, binders, and slip cases!! Such a remarkably high quality collection is rarely offered intact. A tremendous opportunity! $2750.00

#731272 Germany 1872-1923 Mint Collection in Lindner Album
Attractive Mint collection of early German issues, starting with a Mint #1 and moving on to an unusually large representation of Mint Large Shield stamps, followed by a nice range of Germania issues including the complete set of no-watermark Germanias, and then scattered later issues. While this collection only consists of 76 stamps and four nice blocks, it is a great start with many hard-to-obtain stamps. While all of the stamps are very attractive there are some of the usual minor hidden flaws in the earliest issues (and thus 300 Euro of catalog value has NOT been counted). Beautifully presented on Lindner-T [hingeless] album pages in a handsome black Lindner binder with slip case. The album page set is the complete "Germany I" Lindner set for 1872-1923 (Lindner #T112). Lindner new retail for the album is $147! To evaluate the collection we used the 2003 Michel catalog (it was the most recent edition on hand, but that is to your advantage): Michel value comes to over 1400 Euros (plus 300 Euros not counted) or over US$1890!! A practical, and handsome, start for a Germany collection with great potential for expansion or a great new home for a collection you have already started. $549.00

Beautiful Mint collection of this difficult wartime period. Comprehensive coverage with many scarce key items present, but still with room for further development. An extraordinary collection from the first stamps through the last. Virtually complete, missing only Scott #9N21-34 (the second [red] overprinted set), #9N35-41 (von Stephan set), #9N61-3 (von Goethe set), and just a couple very inexpensive very modern issues. The stamps are NEVER HINGED throughout and virtually every stamp with VF centering. The first [black] overprinted set has the usual variable centering, but is F-VF or VF and the 5m top value is Superb. The 1949 Berlin Bear single stamps and souvenir sheet are stunning. The 1949 Buildings set is wonderful. It is difficult to list highlights because everything is present and in terrific condition! #731271 Saar (Germany) Impressive Mint 1920-1959 Collection in Lindner Album
Substantially complete collection of Mint (much NH) Saargebiet (1920-34) and Saarland (1947-59) stamps beautifully presented in a handsome Lindner album. Starting with the first (1920) Germania overprints issue complete including wonderful examples of the 80p and 1m stamps. The 1920 Portraits are represented with several (genuine) values including the larger 1m, 2m, and 3m values as well as a wonderful NH VF example of the very scarce unissued small 3m brown. Complete SAARGEBIET overprints, including a NH Fine example of the 4m key value. From that point to 1959, the collection is 99.5% complete except for only a partial showing of the official overprints (but which are correctly sorted out). The 1948 Flood imperforate s/s of four stamps is present in wonderful NH VF condition, while the Flood perforated Airmail s/s has a light hinge mark out in the margin. In the 1920-34 era there are some NH stamps, but the majority is hinged (usually only lightly). In the 1947-59 era almost all stamps are NH with just a very few exceptions. With few exceptions, the centering is at least VF with the vast majority VF. The beautiful Lindner-T (hingeless) album pages in handsome maroon Lindner binder with slipcase retails new for $183! The overprints are guaranteed genuine; inquire for details. There are just a very few stamps with gum problems or such, but they were not counted in the catalog value at all. To evaluate the collection we used the 2003 Michel catalog (it was the most recent edition on hand, but that is to your advantage): Michel value comes to over 5835 Euros or over US$7880!! A beautiful and virtually complete collection of these attractive (and usually quite artistic and historical) stamps from 1955 through 1994. Very unusual 2.25-inch albums, with slipcase, designed for U.S. full sheets. 50 heavy black card pages with crystal-clear plastic on either side, thus holds 100 sheets. Though the pages are a little larger, the practical size limit for contents is 9.5 x 11.5 inches. Somewhat expandable high-quality binding. The only disadvantage is that the pages are not "hinged", thus the pages do not really turn for easy viewing. However, it seems to be a very good and highly protective storage system and are really deluxe. I have never before seen such binders and I cannot determine the brand. Excellent used condition.
