Scott #230 [1893 1c blue Columbus in Sight of Land] Mint, moderately hinged, original gum, with F-VF+ JUMBO centering. The top margin is about normal for a F-VF centered stamp. However, the other three margins are absolutely enormous and virtually equal to each other. Very detailed, sharp engraving with a crispness that is not often seen on this workhorse stamp. (Scott 2022 value $14 for normal VF; Jumbo examples are quite unusual.)

Scott #234 Dark Orange Brown [1893 5c Columbus Soliciting Aid of Isabella] Mint, WITHOUT GUM, with XF centering. This color shows a remarkably deep orange-ish component which is quite distinctive. Top margin example with natural straight edge at top, from the top row of the lower pane of 100 from the printer sheet of 200.The 1-cent through $2-dollar Columbians were printed in sheets of 200 which were divided horizontally into two panes of 100 for sale at post offices. 10 stamps out of every 200 stamps (5%) originally had this straight-edge feature at top (and same for at bottom), but it seems that many of the straight-edge examples were discarded decades ago or have since been reperforated, and have since become hard to find. I believe collecting such stamps (which have become scarce over time due to being discarded or being reperforated) could be a challenging and enjoyable endeavor. This stamp -- and color -- is remarkably hard to find with such nice appearance, even if without gum. (Scott 2025 with-gum VF value is $55.)
