Scott #230 [1893 1c blue Columbus in Sight of Land] Mint, moderately hinged, original gum, with F-VF+ JUMBO centering. The top margin is about normal for a F-VF centered stamp. However, the other three margins are absolutely enormous and virtually equal to each other. Very detailed, sharp engraving with a crispness that is not often seen on this workhorse stamp. (Scott 2022 value $14 for normal VF; Jumbo examples are quite unusual.)

Scott #237 [1893 10c black brown Columbus Presenting Natives] Mint, without gum, with Fine centering, but a couple small defects not visible without magnification. Natural straight edge at bottom. [It seems that most straight-edge position stamps have been reperforated and that straight-edge examples are now actually fairly scarce. The straight-edge stamps were originally much scarcer than the perforated-4-side stamps. I think that collecting all possible straight-edge positions, plus the perforated 4-side stamp, would be very interesting.] (Scott 2021 $90.00 for VF with gum.)

Scott #241 [1893 $1.00 salmon Isabella Pledging Her Jewels] Mint, original gum with heavy hinge remnant, F-VF centered, but with couple tiny thin specks and perforations probably improved on the top and right. The hinge remnant does cause some curvature in the stamp, but an expert restorer could surely remove the remnant. The potential perforation improvements were expertly done and are certainly not obvious. The color is very strong and bright, with an engraving impression that is remarkably detailed -- Queen Isabella looks annoyed (as in "here, take the jewels and stop bothering me!"). An attractive example! Such nice looking examples, with a reasonable price, are very hard to find. Missing from most collections. (Scott 2023 $1000.)

Scott #242 [1893 $2.00 brown red Columbus in Chains] Used with F-VF+ centering and neat, light registry cancellation. Many might grade it as VF. A very handsome example of a stamp for which it is quite hard to find such attractive examples. (Scott 2022 $525.)
