Scott #331 [1908 ONE CENT green Franklin, Perforated 12, Double Line Watermark] NEVER HINGED with Superb centering. Huge balanced margins on top and bottom, and equal margins on left and right. Wonderfully fresh and bright. (Scott 2022 value for XF/90 $60, XF-Superb/95 $170, and Superb/98 $600.)

Scott #331 [1908 1c green Franklin, Sheet Stamp, Watermark Double Line, Perf 12] Mint, moderately hinged with VF+ centering and JUMBO MARGINS. Very fresh. This workhorse stamp is common, however Mint examples with such nice margins are unusual. (Scott 2022 $6.50 for normal VF centering and margins.)

Scott #333 [1908 3c violet Washington, Type I, Sheet Stamp, Watermark Double Line, Perf 12] Mint, hinge remnant, with F-VF+ centering. This is a top margin example from the lower two panes in the printers sheet of 400 stamps. This example is particularly nice because it fully displays the marginal cutting guideline. Of this issue, only 16 stamps out of 400 had this natural straight edge position. I think collecting the possible natural sheet-margin straight-edge positions would be an interesting and challenging endeavor -- they have actually become somewhat scarce over the years. (Scott 2022 $30.00.)

Scott #334 [1908 4c brown Washington, Sheet Stamp, Watermark Double Line, Perf 12] Mint, lightly hinged, with XF centering. An interesting variety showing a "pale impression" without the usual amount of detail. Very fresh and attractive! Nice centered examples of this 4-cent stamp are surprisingly hard to find. (Scott 2022 $35.00 for VF; Scott 2021 graded value for XF/90 is $52.50.)

Scott #334 [1908 4c brown Washington, Sheet Stamp, Watermark Double Line, Perf 12] Used with XF-Superb centering and JUMBO MARGINS. Neat machine cancellation. An exceptional example of a stamp that is usually poorly centered and with small, variable margins. Ordinary examples of this stamp are common, but superlative examples such as this are seldom offered. This is, by far, the nicest Used example of this stamp that I have had in 48 years. (Scott 2021 graded value is $110.00 for XF-Superb/95, however that does not reflect the premium for JUMBO examples.)

Bottom pair NH (right stamp has gum skip; valued as hinged). A couple of minor perf separations. Very pretty! Individual break up value is around $175, but blocks are much scarcer than that. Scott #335 [1908 5c blue Washington, Sheet Stamp, Watermark Double Line, Perf 12] Used with XF centering and remarkably large margins all around -- almost deserving of the rare "jumbo" moniker. Neat wavy-lines cancellation. An outstanding example of a workhorse stamp that is seldom offered Used with such nice centering and such large margins. Scott #336 [1909 6c orange Washington, Sheet Stamp, Watermark Double Line, Perf 12] Used with XF centering and JUMBO margins. Fairly neat town cancellation, probably (PHILA)DELPHI(A). This 6 cent stamp normally has small- or medium-sized margins -- large margined example are unusual and JUMBO margins are "rare". This is by far the largest example I have had in 48 years. (Scott does not value JUMBO examples, but the 2021 graded value for XF/90 with normal margins is $45 -- this example is much, much scarcer!)

Scott #337 [1908 8c olive green Washington, Perf 12, Double Line Watermark] NEVER HINGED with VF centering. A wonderfully fresh and bright example accompanied by a PHOTOCOPY of the 2005 Philatelic Foundation certificate of the 4-block from which this upper right stamp was removed. (Though photocopies of certificates are not valid certificates, in this case I do not believe that this stamp requires a certificate on its own. However, if you wish to yourself obtain a new certificate, of course I guarantee the stamp to be as described. If the new certificate gives a lower opinion, upon return to me of the stamp and the new certificate, I will provide a full refund and pay for the new certificate.) A very pretty example, with wonderfully sharp engraving, of a stamp that is surprisingly hard to find in NH and/or with nice centering. (Scott 2021 value $105 for NH.)

Scott #344 [1908 TWO CENTS Washington, Imperforate, Double Line Watermark] Mint NEVER HINGED, with VF centering and four large margins. Left guideline example from one of the right panes. This is from the left side of one of the right panes. The printer sheets and panes of the 1-15 cent stamps of this issue all had the same format: The printer sheet of 400 was vertically and horizontally divided, along central guidelines, into four panes of 100. 18 stamps of 400 had a guideline at the right (from left panes) and another 18 at left (from right panes). Four corner positions with corner-adjacent guidelines also exist. Despite this respective 4.5% of production, examples with a right or left guideline are now quite hard to find (most were used for postage rather than going into collections). I think that collecting guideline (and straight-edges on perforated stamps) positions is quite challenging and rewarding. Regardless of all that, examples with the guidelines are surprisingly hard to find. An attractive example. (Scott 2022 $9.00 for NH, not taking into account the scarcity of the guideline.)

Scott #344 [1908 TWO CENTS Washington, Imperforate, Double Line Watermark] VERTICAL PAIR WITH GUIDELINE BETWEEN, Mint NEVER HINGED, with VF centering and four ample to large margins. Horizontal guideline from between upper and lower panes. The printer sheets and panes of the 1-15 cent stamps of this issue all had the same format: The printer sheet of 400 was vertically and horizontally divided, along central guidelines, into four panes of 100. 18 such pairs could exist from a sheet of 400 stamps, however in my experience very few VERTICAL PAIR with horizontal guideline must have been saved; such would have been saved from the full panes of 400 before they were broken up. I think that collecting guideline (and straight-edge on perforated stamps) positions is quite challenging and rewarding. Regardless of all that, examples with the guidelines are surprisingly hard to find. An attractive example. (Scott 2022 $18.00, as two singles, for NH, not taking into account the scarcity of the guideline -- vertical pairs with guideline such as this are much scarcer.)

Scott #346 [1909 4c Washington, Imperforate, Double Line Watermark] NEVER HINGED, with VF centering and four ample margins. Bottom guideline example from one of the upper panes.
